Trump gives kids helicopter rides at Iowa State Fair

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump offered kids helicopter rides in a show of wealth as he bragged Saturday that he is willing to spend $1 billion on his presidential campaign.

"I'm turning down so much money," Trump said at a press conference kicking off his weekend trip to Iowa to visit the State Fair, with his black helicopter emblazoned with "Trump" and children standing in the background.

Trump touted turning down a $5 million donation offer this week before saying he would spend $1 billion on his 2016 Republican presidential bid "if I had to."

"Nobody else would do the job that I will do," Trump said, mentioning jobs, the military, care for veterans and the "catastrophe" of ObamaCare, which he said he would get rid of.

There’s nothing like a helicopter ride. If they flew NOE with the doors off, that would have rocked it. Trump needs to buy some Hueys.

lol...

You probably forgot, this is a story/video about a bunch of kids having some fun at a State Fair. Kids, hatchet throwing, chopper rides, square dancing and BBQ. Fun stuff.

No, only the ones that counted. You know, that thing called the general election - twice...

Just because someone is popular with the voters doesn’t make them right or that they will lead in a positive direction.

Just a few years ago Trump was touting the Canadian healthcare system as an example of what we should do... And how wonderful single payer is... And how our system was killing us compared to the Canadians... Never mind any core conservative principles that are the only way out of this mess... He’s saying today what you want to hear so all in you are... A few years ago is down the memory hole...

So pardon me while I watch in a amazement.

It all boils down to what he says on tomorrow’s Meet the Press - “Either we have a country or what don’t.”

Keep watching the Donald show with more energy from the masses than we have seen in a lifetime.

But of course you know why this is happening, right? In my opinion, it is happening because we republicans elected almost all conservative politicians who ran for the House. And then in 2014 we gave senate majority to republicans. SO can you name 3 major conservative bills which reached Obama’s desk?

Ya got to keep the humor up. Who knows, maybe some of the upset folks feel they deserve a chopper ride too. Ride equality now!

I would like to see Trump, declare he will donate his Presidential Salary to pay off US debts.

It’s a billionth of a Penney yes but the symbolism would be colossal.

Look for record ratings for MTP tomorrow. One of the few times Trump will be interviewed in the TV studio in person.

I may be wrong, but I think he already did it on his airplane.

Trump makes $400 million in a average year. President’s salary is $400k. That salary is 1/1000 of his income. Should be easy for The Donald to give up 0.1% of his income. I am sure we will see that in the news in due time.

His aircraft was used as the TV studio with TV reporters in the same room. Lot of his interviews are done remotely.

Don’t get me wrong. I hate the Republican leadership. I won’t vote for Jeb period - and I’ve never not voted for the nominee. But no more.

What I’m saying is Trump is a chameleon and I don’t trust him.

And yes, I’m watching him. If he’s really consulting with Forbes, Bolton et al. then that’s a good thing. Will he listen? If does will he follow through?

RE:”well, hell. that’s a difference maker in my book. sure, I’ll vote for a pro-abortion, pro-ACA, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control liberal democrat for the republican nomination. what the hell. he gave helicopter rides.”

If you were a kid you would appreciate those rides.

If Trump was here he would say :
I am smart, they are stupid, I am rich, they are not. I am up in the polls(right now), not like your guy , that's all that counts”

Three reasons I heard to support Trump that make your points irrelevant:

1) Trump plans on quitting and giving his support to Cruz, they have a deal
2) Cruz cant beat Bush in the primary, but Trump can. And Trump and Cruz have lots in common.
3) Cruz said he wont run as a independent against the GOP nominee if he loses (against Jeb I assume they mean ), but Trump will. We need to teach the GOP a lesson and eight years of Bernie Sanders will do it.

Remember the glorious Perot days

Good for him! Looks like the kids loved it :)

Indeed. Trump probably loved it more, as he circled the fairgrounds overhead where Hillary was trying to make her points while the roar of the helicopter and the Trump insignia disrupted her delivery!

I can agree Trump is not perfect. This country does not have lot of time left. We are getting very close to the Greek debacle. I am willing to try an experienced and hardened businessman at the helm. Someone who has the chutzpah to say no to special interests. Someone who has actually done deals with foreign countries. Someone who will not be in the pockets of lobbyists and rich donors. When you vote for a career politician, you do not get him. What you are really getting are the men behind the curtain, his rich donors.

The big difference between Greece and us is that Greece is not a major player. Someone bigger will bail them out (even though they don’t deserve it). When we crash, we won’t have someone to bail us out (and we’re even less deserving of a bailout than Greece).

Yes, Mount Vernon was a very prosperous business.

A bit odd.
In his younger days, Washington was something of a social climber.
By the end of the revolution, he was content to remain at home and enjoy his family.
Thank the Lord he was persuaded to become our first President.
