Donald Trump's dominance in the polls shows no sign of abating despite the controversy that has raged for days over his comments about Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly and her treatment of him during the first GOP debate last week.
According to a poll by Morning Consult conducted Aug. 7 to 9 of 2,029 registered voters, Trump leads his nearest rival by nearly 3-1 with 32 percent support. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in the No. 2 spot has just 11 percent support.
Every other GOP contender clocks in with less than 10 percent support: Retired pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson is in third place at 9 percent; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio are tied for fourth place with 6 percent; Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is at 4 percent, a decrease from 7 percent the previous week. What's more, the controversy appears to have boosted Trump, giving him a 7-point increase in support since the previous survey. Special: Get Donald Trump's Cap Free Make America Great Again! The share of Republican primary voters who say they view Trump favorably also increased since from 57 percent to 62 percent, though he continues to have a 52 percent unfavorable rating.
"That makes Trump both the most popular candidate within the Republican field and the least popular candidate Republicans could nominate for next year's general election," Morning Consult said in a statement.

They have done it before many times. In fact they have done it recently, each pollster has been showing Trump quite strong, but they lie when they have showed Trump getting pasted against Hillary.
Same deal with Fox trying to bring down Trump, I dont believe anybody told them to do it or that any of them discussed it at all, they just did it because it was in their heart to do it, and while they did it.
They have done this type of thing to Sarah Palin.
When Opinion Dynamics was the pollster for Fox, they released a poll just after a weekend, was the last poll from OD before the election, they showed Bush tanking against Kerry, we later found out they polled Halloween night while parents were getting kids ready to go out
After the election they had the head of OP on explaining what went wrong, the guy said we were concerned about it, but we decided to release it anyway, he was quite sheepish
Just one example, most pollsters are liberal and struggle with whether or not to help their party in crunch time
I believe this
All of the Fox pundits are Democrats. Megyn is very liberal.
“So you think women are stupid?”
I sadly do. Look how most of them vote for socialism.
Trump didn’t even attack anyone for being a woman, but for their attacking hum first. He could have- and did - say the exact same thing about men.
But women and minorities have been programmed to be victims, so will take anything he says as sexist or racist.
Well said.
I must admit I’m surprised by this news. I honestly thought the debate would do him in, not because of the stupidity to eminate from Megyn Kelly, but because of his vapid performance during the rest of the debate.
However it’s clear Trump has tapped into a huge pool of resentment among the voting public. A bloc of resentment that is willing to forgive much for the sake of revenge against a perceived (real or imagined doesn’t matter) cartel of elitists who have supressed their satisfaction over the years. It’s the only explanation for not only his continued viability in the midst of “scandals” that would have destroyed any other candidate, but also his rising popularity.
The problem with such fervent populism based on negative sentiment is, that such movements eventually implode because of the natural hostility from which they are built and grow. For this reason I still maintain, as I did a few weeks ago now, that Trump will say and/or do something that even he will not be able to recover from, in the next two months. It’s the nature of the beast; malcontent can only fuel progress for so long. Movements based on it eventually destroy themselves from the inside.
100%
One reason: TELEVISION
The Entertainment angle is all that matters to them, and asking 10 people the same question would be BORING to them. Fair and informative, but boring. So it’s all shock and tabloid, lurid and provocative.
So think of it: Entertainers get to think up different questions for each candidate. It’s 100% biased from the get go. And since they’re ALL liberals, we get what we got.
Never forget that the Entertainers get more face time than the candidates combined.
I had dinner with a retired Marine friend last night who is a devoted Democrat, like James Carville.
He said he's so angry at the political class, that HE would vote for Trump.
I expected Kasich to rise fast in NH, but not this fast. He is a good match for that state. at 12%
Walker, CRuz still strong in Iowa

3 polls with Trump leading
Cranky Krauthammer is deeply saddened. I loved watching Laura Ingraham absolutely drive Krauthammer crazy last night.
Dear GOPe we do NOT want Jeb! We are done with your RINO candidates. You and the CoC can go to hell.
Not to mention the 24m
Triple previous record
All Trump
Plus slamming of FOX and Meghan Kelly in the popular media.
All these unexplained “mistakes” keep happening, but it’s bound to correct itself just like when Reagan ran, right? Reagan didn’t really believe in what he was doing - “we’ll see who he really is sooner or later”. They can’t believe Trump, like Reagan, is just being himself and wants to get America back on track.
The politico’s heads are exploding now, just as they were then and just seeing that is more than worth the price of admission.

So you think Megyn got the spot at 9 PM from Hannity because the old fool Rupert likes her. HMMM. Interesting. She is not as good as Hannity and I wondered why they gave her his spot. Makes sense to me.
Guess again Trump is polling well with women.
It reminds me of the Richard Pryor movie “Brewster’s millions”.
Who are you going to vote for? None of the above!
Since we are a republic, and since we no longer use the electoral method to elect a president, as a republic should, then “none of the above” should be on every ballot, and certainly for president. It would be one way to preserve a republic. No candidate could win without a 50% + 1 vote in their favor.
