Billionaire Donald Trump has taken a commanding lead in the race for the 2016 U.S. Republican presidential nomination with the support of 25 percent in a Reuters/Ipsos poll,
giving him a double-digit advantage over nearest rival Jeb Bush.
The poll shows Bush, the former Florida governor, trailing at 12 percent.
It is a huge jump for Trump, who announced his candidacy for the November 2016 election six weeks ago - and this despite the criticism political rivals leveled at him for remarks this month belittling the military service of Senator John McCain, the party's candidate in 2008.

Trump, a 69-year-old real estate mogul and reality TV star, seems to be certain to take the stage at next week's Fox News debate, which will use national polls to determine which 10 of the 17 Republican candidates in the field can participate.

Patience. For now, be glad Trump is doing the dirty work. Cruz will surface later.
We don’t need someone who sounds Presidential. We need an Andrew Jackson.
As much as they deserve by their actions.
So who to blame here?
Exactly, this isn’t a participation trophy world. DT went big: high risk, high reward.

Yes, the issues were discussed but no one heard the issues. It took Trump's arrogant, obnoxious style to get the word out and stir the pot. The nice guys were ignored. For now, let Trump do the dirty work. He's serving a purpose.
I would like to see Cruz on the ticket with Trump. Cruz could help steer a forceful Conservative agenda and would provide a brilliant Constitutional legal mind.
Together those two could really make a difference to improve the country, which both of them passionately want to do.
Made his argument or not, no one is listening. He cannot even get more than one senator agree with him. Sad but true.
gullibe low information voters. they just don’t exist on the left, you know.
In a Cruz v Trump nomination showdown, who would win? I was wondering about this so I started a poll. The current results show it’s not even close, Cruz would trounce Trump in a 1 on 1.

Currently
Cruz - 88%
Trump - 9%
So if Cruz’s voters aren’t apart of Trump’s 24% or so, then who in the world is supporting this liberal Republican clown?
I know Rubio and he is a decent guy with conservative principles at heart. He did great in FL legislature term limiting out as SOTH. He had backing to go up against crist for the Senate seat. I’m guessing that same backing is behind this run. He got a lot of confidence winning over crist. But I don’t think he understands why it happened. If he does, his handlers have filled his head with cotton candy dreams and made conservative out as boogymen. I never heard him to say anything about immigration like he is saying now when he was running for the Senate.
Sounds good to me.
Wisconsin is 44th in private sector jobs growth, 40th in salaries, 50th in new business start ups and is losing the middle class faster than any other state.
Walker for Commerce Secretary? Oh Heeellll No!
I would also love to see Cruz playing to his strengths in a future capacity taking on the Supremes again.
How about Senate Majority leader.
Hell yeah.
Well if FR was representative of Republican primary voters AND there were only the two candidates running, you would be right.
Both premises are incorrect.
Perfect. Except I might eliminate DHS too. Seems like the DOJ could do fine with that mission.
The legal side of it yes, I agree DOJ. The border side, should be Dept of War. Bring home V Corp and give them the mission “Secure the Boarder.” Should take a few days.
As Vice President, Cruz would be President of the Senate. Think he couldn’t get rid of McConnell as leader? :)
