A new poll of voters likely to take part in the New Hampshire Republican primary shows Donald Trump with the biggest lead he has yet held in the GOP race. The Monmouth University poll, released Tuesday morning, has Trump at 24 percent -- double the support of the next-highest Republican, Jeb Bush, at 12 percent.
Scott Walker and John Kasich are tied for third at seven percent apiece -- a significant drop for Walker from recent months and a significant advance for Kasich, who announced his candidacy on June 21. Following are Marco Rubio, at six percent; Ben Carson and Rand Paul, five percent; Chris Christie, four percent; Ted Cruz and Carol Fiorina, three percent; and the rest of the field.
I love that Jebbie is third. He must be rolling around chewing the carpet over this disaster.
It has him at second in the poll; second to Trump will trump Trump, the GOP-e assumes.
Rick Perry’s strategy of demagogueing Trump as a cancer has worked out superbly, apparently. Not even a blip on the radar for the 3 term governor.
The MSM is caught in its own absurd echo-chamber.
They've "bought in to their own press coverage."
If the GOP is a brand it must be the Edsel.
No McCain damage.
Could that be, possibly, because nobody really likes McCain?
No, if the GOPe is a brand it has to be a Ford Pinto.
Yet there are Trump haters here that insist Trump has made no condemnation, no direct threat or impact on Jeb’s campaign. Here, I’d say that this double lead over Jeb is just mere circumstance, huh?
Rightly or wrongly, good bad or arrogant, Trump does hurt Jeb and for me that is the ONLY point. I honestly don’t want him as President, but he is doing a valuable service.
Don’t worry, McLame is reloading. Can’t let the voice of the people drown out his fellow GOPe’rs.
Or perhaps because he called people who are worried about illegal immigration “crazies”, and most voters are worried about illegal immigration... oops!
Oh, c’mon. Take the giant step. Who but Trump will bring in the talent and have the self-assurance needed to clean up the DC sewer?
Have you noticed??
Noooooooooooooobody wants to talk about McCain.
NOT AT ALL!
Exactly. Even though he is not taking votes directly from Jebbie. Trump is impacting negatively on Bush in two ways. First he’s making Bush appear even more vanilla and squishy (which is bad in a primary). I mean Bush is always a RINO. But when he only has to be compared to the rest of the PC field, it doesn’t sound as off putting. But compared to Trump, he sounds like a Democrat. And more importantly, Trump’s frontrunner status pauses the media’s coronation of Bush which will allow others to fill the vacuum if Trump were to drop out.
It isn’t up to me to elect him. My only action right now will be to not condemn him as long as I see him keeping illegal aliens (NOT IMMIGRANTS!) in the forefront AND how he cuts into Jeb Bush’s voter base.
AFAIK, there are two candidates in the wings (Cruz and Walker) who should move up if they can correctly read the winds of disgust out here in America. They can strut their stuff in the debate and show their mettle and we can all let the chips fall from there - as long as Jeb is squashed and damaged beyond help.
I got an image of that and started laughing out loud.Thank you for that
Only Dole, McCain, and Romney can win?
Huckabee was getting momentum against McCain when the elite declared the competition over and McCain the unstoppable person for the nomination. My point? Huckabee is not on the establishment side.
Walker? It seems the more people see of him, the less they like him. He's looking like the Chamber of Commerce's plan B (JMHO) It does seem he's being groomed instead of just being himself.
That debate stage could get interesting if the only establishment guys up there are Jeb, Perry, Rubio, and Walker. Can't see them standing up to the others.
I think Trump served mcnutts a nice hot cup of STFU. Mcnutts has said lets move on so people wont look too hard at the POSs past. Mcnutts has shot himself in both feet imo.
