During a taped interview that aired Sunday morning on CNNs State of the Union, Dana Bash asked Governor and 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Scott Walker if he thought being gay was a choice.

Once, just once, I wish someone had the courage to respond: " I have no idea what causes homosexuality. All I can tell you is, I have no desire, no urges and no dreams of F$#king a man in the A$$. Do you? Apparently 1 1/2 to 2% of males do. So what. Why is that relevant to me running for president."
Looking at these responses I see the “my way or the highway” crowd who gave us Obama because they didn’t get THEIR perfect candidate are still with us.
I’d have thought seeing the damage they had done they would have taken the gas pipe.
Sadly that is not the case.
How about — “Oh, I’m not qualified to answer that question. You should ask Anne Heche.”
To me, Walker is one of the best candidates because he has talked to the talked, fought the fights (unlike Pence) and repeatedly won.
“...Dana Bash asked Governor and 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Scott Walker if he thought being gay was a choice...”
He should have answered the gotcha question this way: “Since you have chosen a queer lifestyle Dana, I will support it and CNN in their choice of promoting news readers that are LBGT.”
The question is whether or not being a homosexual is a choice. I don’t know if anybody has the answer to that. A lot of things can happen in the formative years that can affect how a person turns out. On the other hand:Is a homosexual lifestyle a choice? I believe that is if a person makes a conscious choice to live that kind of lifestyle.
And why should a presidential candidate have to answer questions that really have no answers. “I don’t know and if you know maybe you can enlighten me.”
That’s the only correct answer. But he should have said that nobody knows.
Sounds like something Trump would say...
He’d probably say it like this:
” Its learned, and a choice.
Otherwise 1% of the population wouldn’t be out there recruiting to increase their numbers.”
Here's Dana's horse:
President Barack Obama.
Iran nuclear deal.
Obama care.
SCJustices Kagan and Sotomayer.
Do I have to continue? Or are you still in your catatonic fantasy state?
And electing the father of gay marriage in America that profits and funds the dead baby part industry while creating Obamacare and appointing the most liberal judges in Mass history would have been an improvement how?
I support Walker.
Amazing, right? Nuts.
Wrong. Just answerthe question you want to answer therfore, a better answer would have been,it is absolutely a choice to sleep with someone of the same sex. I imagine you chose your sexual partners as well but does the Ame5icanpublic reallyneed to be discussing that?
You think that’s a letdown? Just to lay down the groundwork here for what I’m about to say, I’m against gay marriage. I am however for civil unions. The reasoning behind this is we as a country allow people to have the free exercise of religion but we do not live under a theocracy nor should we. Would you be equally disappointed if Mr. Walker came out and said I refuse to fight for the rights of adulters, alcoholics, liars, and any number of other sins that are not illegal? I think he nailed it. Homosexuality is not illegal and nor should it be. Therefore, his answer per our constitution is the correct one. If you are posting here I’m sure you are for our constitution so I would hope you would change your opinion so that you can be consistent.
I support Walker.
As others have written, this question is a straw man. It conflates inclinations and behavior, and assumes that if a person has inclinations that they haven’t chosen, they must have been born that way. Apparently, these people have never heard of Sigmund Freud and don’t realize that for decades homosexuality was viewed as a psychological condition — or are deliberately lying. It also presumes that all homosexuals are completely turned off by the opposite sex, which I don’t believe is the case.
Thanks for bringing us news about Scott Walker’s candidacy. I hope he wins the nomination!
