MARK THIESSEN: I went into that book an admirer and came out a true believer...
He is a truly impressive individual. First of all, he is super smart. He came into office, he took a $3.6 billion deficit and turned it into a $1 billion dollar surplus without raising taxes, cutting services to the poor, and decimating educations...
He won three elections in Wisconsin in four years, in a state which hasn't voted for a Republican for president since 1984, not by tacking to the center, but by governing as an unapologetic, full-spectrum conservative...
The difference between Walker and people like Trump... is he is not just a fighter, he is a fighter who can win. He's taken on tough fights and he has won every single time.

Here’s what I picked up today- http://www.educationviews.org/missing-scott-walkers-ap-press-releasecommon-core/
You are wrong, Grover Norquist is NOT a closet Muslim, he is active with several OUT Muslim organization, and his wife is a Palestinian Muslim. That closet door is wide open. I have wondered for years if his no new taxes pledge was designed to decimate our military. The sequester sure didn’t help. We certainly would be in better shape to fight ISIL without that mess.
I checked out my link posted in Comment #44. It has a really neat graph with little heads of all the candidates, both parties, and how much net worth they have. Walker was the poorest with only $75,000. Trump has $4 billion, Hillary has, if I remember right, $20 million. I was shocked to discover I have more net worth than several of the candidates. I guess these guys spend all their money on looking good, paying for campaigns, etc. I invest my money, buy clothes at thrift shops, and drive an 18 year old car.
He still downplays it for public effect. It is not commonly understood, a fact of which he takes advantage. Hence the comment.

I seriously doubt that this Administration would have spent more tax revenue to beneficial effect had it been extracted. Don't you?
Scott Walker will be joining Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush at 31st Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference September 18th -20th.
No schedule yet. Just announced by the MI GOP. I’m sure other candidates will be added to the line up in coming days.
For those unaware, a lot of our midwestern RTW strategies have been born out of the Mackinac center.
Thank you for the info.
Bump!
I like bold people who have principled positions and stick with them. Then you will like Scott Walker. That describes him well.
My understanding of the sequester is that it kept all programs at a funding level related to the previous year’s.
Thus, no new programs and no older or unnecessary programs could be begun or phased out. I think this was done to secure support of some Congresspeople who were afraid a specific program, procurement, or base in their district/state might be cut. This is not a very cost-effective way to allocate reduced funding. Especially given the shifting nature of the enemy with the ISIL growth, our military really needs that flexibility, and now we could be facing another government shutdown in a few months.
I reread your earlier comment, regarding open borders. Of course Norquist wants open borders, just let those Muslims and Muslim terrorists have an easy time slipping in.
