Marc Thiessen: Scott Walker Is "Truly Impressive... Unapologetic Full-Spectrum Conservative"

[great 4:00 Fox News VIDEO]

MARK THIESSEN: I went into that book an admirer and came out a true believer...

He is a truly impressive individual. First of all, he is super smart. He came into office, he took a $3.6 billion deficit and turned it into a $1 billion dollar surplus without raising taxes, cutting services to the poor, and decimating educations...

He won three elections in Wisconsin in four years, in a state which hasn't voted for a Republican for president since 1984, not by tacking to the center, but by governing as an unapologetic, full-spectrum conservative...

The difference between Walker and people like Trump... is he is not just a fighter, he is a fighter who can win. He's taken on tough fights and he has won every single time.

Mark Thiessen: "Thiessen's first book, Courting Disaster: How the CIA Kept America Safe and How Barack Obama Is Inviting the Next Attack (ISBN 1596986034), was published by Regnery Publishing in January 2010. In the book he argued that the enhanced interrogation techniques used by the CIA, which the Obama administration has characterized as torture, are not torture by any reasonable legal or moral standard and "were not only effective, but lawful and morally just". The book was endorsed by the former Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey. It reached the No. 9 spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list for hardcover nonfiction in February 2010."

I’m a Cruz guy but Walker is certainly acceptable to me.

It’s the same talking points. Like people reading off a prepared generic political biography.

Walker’s 15 minutes came and went while he was thinking about it. Further, now we see him scheming with Rubio, forget it. He should have not even gotten in at this point. What a waste of people’s money. We do not need another amnesty stealth GOPe candidate.

"On Sunday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) signed his two-year 2011-2013 budget, which included ending in-state tuition for undocumented students attending public universities and colleges. In-state tuition for undocumented students was approved two years ago by former Governor Jim Doyle (D) after the Hispanic community struggled for 10 years to pass it."...

Governor Walker has been very clear that he does not support amnesty and believes that border security must be established and the rule of law must be followed. “I made it clear that for me, if somebody wants to be a citizen, they need to go back to their country of origin, get in line, no preferential treatment,” Walker said. “In terms of what to do beyond that, again, that’s something we

Nice anti-Walker talking points.

Walker is telling Rubio he's a bit green when he does that.

I would support either Cruz or Walker. My preference is Walker, as he has shown the actual experience in accomplishing a conservative agenda against everything the left could throw at him. He’s gotten results.

But, yes, I would accept Cruz, too. Nobody else really gets me fired up, and if anyone else wins the GOP nomination...meh. It was a nice Republic while it lasted.

Let’s face it, Walker is just another Rino. All of the republican candidates are Rino’s when compared to my pure conservative position on every topic.

Just being sarcastic before the Rino charges fly here in FP because Walker et.al doesn’t meet some folks’ personal conservative test.

And not even Ronald Reagan would meet those standards, thus they kick all off the podium in search of a purity that may not exist unless that person decides to run.

Agree. He waited a long time. It’s not much of a big splash.

Today’s news is Trump. Trump 24x7. Even getting threats from Mexico. How is Walker to compete, even if he had a legit non-amnesty message?

Then watch the 4 minute video.

Politico isn't going to help out by printing Thiessen's comments about "steel of spine" and the 100,000 protesters at the WI state capital.

Walker is fully endorsed by Grover Norquist. Norquist hosted him at one of his recent confabs. Then he and Norquist met with the K street lobbyists.

If Walker is a true conservative and firm on illegal immigration (as opposed to a true corporatist)....he sure does make some poor hires and keep strange friends.

yes. but he also blocked open records in his state even trying to pass more strictures on open records in a budget bill. He supports Commie Core-he just RENAMES IT!

Gov Scott Walker has said all along that he'd announce after he signed Wisconsin's 2015-17 state budget. It just went to his desk and it's signed.

Even though he hadn't officially announced he's been a top tier candidate in the polling for months.

Don’t forget about his good buddy Grover Norquist. Grover will be there to help make sure his K street buddies can get cheap illegal labor.
