... [Ann Coulter] was riding high, perhaps the most famous polemicist of her day, the scourge of liberals everywhere and the fantasy of young conservative men's dreams. And then suddenly, she was nowhere. After having been relegated to a "debate" with her friend Mickey Kaus the year before, she was excluded from CPAC in 2015 where she'd been featured for 17 years. It seems that conservative organizations have been trying to have her dropped for a while but friends in high places had intervened. But the planners had had enough. She was very bitter about it, telling the Washington Examiner, "I might just show up anyway just to piss them off. I could be the Bibi Netanyahu of CPAC." ...
She seems to think she's being ignored because of her strong opposition to immigration. Her latest screed is called "Adios America: The Left's Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole," and it is predictably horrifying. She appears to have lifted many of her ideas from white nationalists and anti-immigrant extremists and has moved from being a right wing polemicist to openly proselytizing for white supremacy ...

It wasn’t so bad that she endorsed Mitt Romney. It was that she viciously attacked anyone (including conservatives) who wanted someone else for the nominee. That is what did it for me. I was so peeved that I through away two of her books in the garbage. Also, lets not forget how she screamed like a banshee, telling us that we must vote for Turtle Mcconnell over Matt Bevin.
I have always assumed that she is homosexual and suffers from Marfans syndrome.
It’s true.
Should be “threw” instead of through. Grammar police.
Her supporters, like most Romneybots, do tend to scream when they don’t get the liberal acceptance from conservatives they demand.
Or they post Pics of Yosemite Sam on a Dragon as intelligent (snicker) political commentary.
It’s impressive how her footslaves will say anything to deny it though.
The Republican Party long ago jumped the shark. Ann is reprising Reagan's, "I didn't leave the party, they left me".
She believes in supporting "Electable" RINOs.
You just described half or more of FR.
Have you ever read her comments on the T.E.A. Party or Ted Cruz.
She Conservative like Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush or Chris Christie
Ann was flying pretty high there for a while, but mainly with the GOP-e. Plenty here turned against her, then the ‘compassionate conservatives’ did too. She had nothing to lose by spreading a little truth regarding immigration.
Ann Coulter is in it for Ann Coulter, not for any of us or for anything we might believe.
That’s to be expected from a writer. If we expect anything more from her, we’ll be disappointed.
So, I expect nothing from her. That way I’m not upset.
But hey, let’s have more articles from Salon telling us why conservatives are scum.
She dumped Christie as soon as he came out sort of pro amnesty, in fact she has decided immigration is the only issue if the Republic is to survive and she is not wrong. There are other important issues to be sure but with open borders they sink away to irrelevance. A majority underclass voter always brings a totalitarian government because the little people demand solutions. Illegal amnesty will suck the life out of the Republic.
“But the point holds that Coulter has spent a lot of time engaging in that same sort of verbal bomb-throwing, and I think its ultimately undermined her seriousness and legitimacy as a conservative voice.”
What she is saying is true. Is it now necessary for conservative truth tellers to tiptoe around so as not to be seen as bomb-throwing, and actually get someone’s attention?
She and Matt Drudge worked together during the primary season to demonize all the conservatives. Drudge headlined her columns and they both went after any conservatives who looked like they might be getting too far ahead in the primaries.
I know that a lot of Freepers, especially the libertarians, disliked Rick Santorum, but he came the closest to edging out Romney. They both pretended that Santorum would behave like the Spanish Inquisition if he got into office, and ran many liberal stories making that claim.
The lesson is: Don’t come between the elite and their cheap labor.
