No, not really. I think the protest concept works right under the proper circumstances when its organized anyway.

Peaceful protest worked against Southern Democrats because largely they still had a common concept of morality. The Modern left doesn’t. They are like Jacobins or the Communists in Spain.

Face it. The institution of marriage has been broken for decades. There are a myriad of reasons why from the “sexual revolution”, to Uncle Sam taking over the role of provider, to desensitization to creeping moral decay (Bork had it on the money with his “Slouching Toward Gommorah” book), and on and on.
It’s no surprise to me that the sanctity of marriage means so little to generations younger than the baby boomers.

This is where my idea of having people watch over Civil War statues and displays has a role. Having at least a couple of people stand watch, with rotating shifts. One important thing to do is to have a cell phone camera to photograph always on hand. Most potential vandals probably would be warded off instantly by such a presence, but it would be interesting to photograph or even videotape a few that would try to act nasty and that you would diplomatically counter with solid factoids pertaining to the real racist history of the modern Democrats and record their reactions. Facebook and other social media/discussion sites including here would be a good place to showcase such images as opposed to corporate establishment newsmedia.

Whatever form that takes, I don’t know. But it’s been in the works for a while. Many people are just not going to bow down to the GOP, period.

Bingo! And THAT's what we lack today. The majority is still conservative, and there a great many dissatisfied with Washington.
The problem is, when there's a "Ferguson", there is a machine in place to jump on Twitter, pound the message boards, bus in "protestors", and plaster it all on the news networks until it permeates the masses.
No better example of this exists than what happened with the Confederate battle flag last week.
Three weeks ago, nobody really cared that the flag was flying in South Carolina, or was for sale on Amazon, and Wal-Mart, and Target. But boom, in one fell-swoop, it's gone -- erased from history. Protestors came out of the woodwork, media pressure increased. The media contacted large retailers asking them if they planned to continue selling these "racist" flags.
This machine is capable of nearly anything now.
So watch your six.
