Donald Trump bump terrifies GOP
Politico ^ | 26 JUN 2015 | JONATHAN TOPAZ and DANIEL STRAUSS

Insiders worry the mogul will damage the eventual nominee and hurt a party struggling to connect with women and minorities.

All jokes aside, the Republican Party is officially afraid of Donald Trump.

He has virtually zero chance of winning the presidential nomination. But insiders worry that the loud-mouthed mogul is more than just a minor comedic nuisance on cable news; they fret that he’s a loose cannon whose rants about Mexicans and scorched-earth attacks on his rivals will damage the eventual nominee and hurt a party struggling to connect with women and minorities and desperate to win.

“Donald Trump is like watching a roadside accident,” said former George W. Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer. “Everybody pulls over to see the mess. And Trump thinks that’s entertainment. But running for president is serious. And the risk for the party is he tarnishes everybody.”

Trump is far less ridiculous than the current Republican leadership of Boehner and McConnell.

Trump is every bit as liberal and has a record to prove it.

“I most likely will not vote.”

The DemoRATS are counting on you to stay home. Don’t let them beat you.

The GOP is the vehicle of conservatism today, like it or not, and Trump makes us all look like fools to those who do not know better.

It sure seems like 71 candidates.

I am really hoping for Cruz.

I like Jindal a lot too but I don’t believe he has much chance. He reduced the size of government in Louisiana by 26% and they’re doing well as a state. He’s a good Christian man and he has a successful track record.

Yeah, Walker over Trump but not by much.

Most of the others don’t appeal much to me.

People are saying Trump is a liberal.

You know what?

It seems to me that quite a few members of the GOP are liberal.

I think the old labels are just that —old.

I don’t want a member of The Establishment.

I used to think the ONLY one I’d consider was Cruz, buuuut....

I’m not so sure.

I’m not sure if I cant trust ANY member of the GOP.

I think the GOP is DELIGHTED that SCOTUS did their dirty work for them and now they can PRETEND they’re outraged.

Didn’t cruz want to boost H1B’s by 500%....?

I think the whole GOP is dirty.

I like Cruz and Walker. Florida and Trump are good for calling out Hillary on her criminality and BS.

Ari Fleischer and Bush 43? Who cares about what the hell they think?

Trump may have no chance of winning, but he will have a bully pulpit once in a while throughout the campaign and may say things people need to hear.

Usually, I prefer that replies to me be written in coherent English, but in your case I'll make an exception.

"I was his biggest cheerleader. If you go back three years, I'm saying, 'Do a great job.' I wanted him to do a great job. I still want him to do a great job.”

That's Donald Trump, talking about Barack Obama in 2011.

" Not a liberal like your candidate Mitt Walker or “ I don’t know where I am “ baby Jebby Bush the Mex."

And as my profile page shows, my candidate is Ted Cruz. I don't know what the hell you're playing at (really, because your post makes no sense), but passing off Donald Trump as some sort of a conservative is going to be a real stretch.

"You need to find another country as soon as you can."

No thanks, I'm trying to save this one from clowns like Donald Trump.

And, finally ....

"You are a moron too the tenth power!"

Thanks for the laugh. You can't even spell, and you're calling me a moron. Grow up.

The Repubs are lying to me and planning on getting me to make a damn fool of myself like I did in 2014 for trusting them.

I got zilch for my vote.

You know folks, seriously..., it’s a hoot to watch a party that couldn’t beat Clinton, could only barely beat the likes of Al Gore and John Kerry by the skin of it’s teeth, and couldn’t beat the likes of Barack Obama at all, act as if it’s worried about fringe candidates.

They’ve lofted nothing but fringe candidates for the last two decades.

I wasn’t a big fan of his, but George Bush Senior was the last even close to capable guy to get the nod, and he turned out to be a consummate wing-nut. Since then it’s been Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney.

This year the GOPe hopes to get Jeb Bush.

And this is the party that is weak in the knees over Donald Trump?

LMAO

They won’t run on illegal aliens.

They won’t run on building a wall.

They won’t run on reasoned trade.

They won’t run on denying Iran the bomb.

They won’t run on rolling back the Leftist agenda.

Stick a fork in this party. It’s done.

Donald Trump might be the worst candidate ever, but the idea he may damage the Republican party is preposterous.

Dirty little secret..., there’s no Republican party.

Neither are 85% of the GOP clowns stuffed in the circus wagon.

In that respect, Trump is just another freak in the show.

If Ari Fleicher hates him, it makes me consider him. If any of the Bushies hate him, there must be something good about him. Remember, the Bushies all love the Clintons.
