I don’t laugh because it is sad, for the country.

Perfect as enemy of the good managed to usher Barack Obama in, twice,

Spare me the psychoanalysis. You’re not particularly good at it.

If you want to drink the koolaid for Ted Cruz regardless of what he does, that’s your prerogative. I’m not going to. He’s a politician. He stands or falls on his own merit. We got a real good taste of where his priorities lie this week. It’s a rare bill that contains so much that’s bad as the TPP does. Obamacare is the only other bill/law that I can think of in recent history that was worse. And like obamacare, we have to pass it in order to see what’s in it. And where was the Ted Cruz on all this? Flacking for it and supporting it with all the rest of the globalists.

All sorts of folks are going to deny the evidence of their own eyes. That’s fine. They’ll also jump up and down and squeal as True Believers usually do when confronted with what they view as heresy against their True Candidate. That’s also fine.

This reminds me of the 2004 to 2006 era here on FR where it was quite the rage to refer to Karl Rove as a “magnificent bastard” despite ample evidence that the qualifier “magnificent” was not applicable.

Any major Republican candidate should say Ben Carson makes a good HHS secretary and person to take apart Obamacare with a way that honors doctors and patients.

Then he can drop out of the Presidential run with a job offer more suitable to his expertise.

I fully agree with your last paragraph. Past trade deals have screwed Americans, and I have little doubt that this one will be more of the same.

Carson and Huckster attracted different types of people. Huck won GA last time he ran. He is well known here. That helped his numbers.

In GA there is a true love for Herman Cain’s apparent integrity and honesty. Carson clearly benefits from that.

There is pragmatic reason to support Carson, which is the same pragmatic reason to support Rubio, who came in a close 3rd. The pragmatists work beside Blacks and Hispanics, go to church beside Blacks and Hispanics, live beside Blacks and Hispanics. Their kids play with Blacks and Hispanics.

The Carson/Rubio pragmatists want to win. They think it is necessary to get sufficient minority voters to win. Plus, once Blacks and Hispanics become your friends, you don’t think in the paradigm of guilt in the same way as when those people are a complete unknown. The unknown often brings fear of the unknown. Fear then creates guilt over the fear..I feel guilty for fearing those whom I do not know.

There are other ways to win. ‘94 is one path to victory. ChristianCoalition/MoralMajority registered and got to the polls millions of people who had never before voted and have not voted since. Those new voters in ‘94 had never voted for Reagan. They had never voted in ‘88 and only a few in ‘92 as CC/MM was in the infancy of its outreach in ‘92.

How do we get the CC/MM voters back to the polls? Nobody has figured that out yet. When I go door-to-door I meet them. I give them a voter registration form and urge them to register to vote. They say they will pray about it. 3 elections later they are still praying about it. They are a huge waste of my time. I probably spent more time trying to register the CC/MM voters than the 300 nonCC/MM Black, Hispanic and low income white voters I registered for one election.

In 2014 small areas of FL, IA, CO and other places had effective GOTV by AFP or candidate organizations. But in 2014 most areas did not have effective GOTV. Another way to win in 2016 is to have massive, effective GOTV like Bush had in Cinci in 2004. If TPP/AFP/FR type groups do effective GOTV in 2016 we can win. And that is more likely than finding a way to re-create ‘94.

Effective 2016 starts in local and special elections in 2015. In GA there are many special elections with good candidates running. This is where AFP/TPP/FR types could build for 2016 if they were smart..and awake.

As a matter of fact I am just short of the max dollars to him until he pulled this shit selling out to Obama and the chamber of commerce. The benefits of supporting him to date is 5 phone calls a day asking for money.

You should stick to making personal comments to stuff you know about

LOL! You have no idea who I support. It's an observation I have noticed for years. There are legions of militant absolutists on this forum in which Jesus Christ would never be sufficient. You people spew malice and hatred when one of your beloved politicians cross you. 99% agreement is never sufficient. It has to be 100% agreement. Koolaid is a tired old cliche.

I don't necessarily disagree with you on the trade bill, but you people are so knee jerk, judgmental, impatient that I assume you must approach most of life this way. God help your families.

FR used to be thoughtful and now it is full of bitter people.

I appreciate your advice about the content of my posts.
I shall give it all due consideration in the future.

Now suppose you tell the class exactly what is in this TPP specifically, since you obviously know all about it.

Cite sources. No blogs.

By July of 2016 (which, by the way, is FOURTEEN MONTHS AWAY) everybody in America is going to be sick to death of these candidates.

This activity at this date is absurd.

I don’t think he has time to find actual, reputable sources for his drivel....he’s too busy answering all of the Ted* Cruze* solicitation phone calls. :-/

Me, I’m willing to bet the farm that “Cruze” knows maybe just a tad bit more about it than he does.

.

With all due respect, you're clearly an "idiot" ... you have "zero" comprehension of the "reality" it takes to WIN a U.S. Presidential campaign ...

It's OK, though ...

Keep sitting and watching the WWF wresting match highlights (from 1982) ... while the rest of do the "heavy lifting" to defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016 ...

You do actually know who Hillary Clinton is, don't you ?

“Now suppose you tell the class exactly what is in this TPP”

Precisely the issue. Nobody knows what in it except that it Gives Obama new unilateral powers for the remainder of his term. Not being a republican Im not stuck with the my party right or wrong problem. Being a conservative I will support no man that votes for Obama to have more power especially when the f-ing thing is secret.

I was super hopeful of Ted but this is strike 2. Strike one was handing out teddy bears to illegals with Glen Beck at the border but I got past that and continued to send him money. This one, however, is unforgivable

If you know how to assuage my concerns with facts I am happy to listen intently.

Cruz probably does, since he voted for it.

How about holding off on hanging him until you have a clue what he voted for and why?
