Like... Jesus was wimpy, forgave too many people, but was too hard on the officials.

A seeming spot like this against a background of otherwise near perfection would get most wise people holding the so called friendly fire, wondering if Cruz did know something we didn’t that made this move make sense.

We don’t have the patience to let questions age. Instead we knee jerk right now with our shots from the hip
(to generously mix metaphors). Is it our own fear that if a question ages it will utterly slink away? Our own concession to a sound byte, tiny attention span age?

Well, what you are stating is that many are not very thoughtful in their responses. No ability to reflect, no ability to let issues play out, no patience, no ability to think strategically, no ability to be aware that you may be wrong, etc. etc.

If Ronald Reagan ran today, he would be loathed and hated on this website. He did sign a bill as governor of Calif to allow abortions. He would be skewered.

Absolutists will always be disappointed.

Newbie? LOL. I have been on a long time.

You tell me what is your agenda. Obviously, you were such a devoted supporter that you whine like a drama queen and run when the going is a little tougher than you like.

So, who will you now support?

Dave, you’re leaving out many important facts about Reagan and abortion...

Here’s the entire truth from an old FR post entitled “Adamantly pro-choice? Ronald Reagan and abortion in 1967”

You could argue that on many bills and have a reasonable point.

But the trade bill, like Obamacare details are being kept secret.
Why would any senator, including RATs vote for a bill no one knows what
is in it?

The GOP is doing the heavy lifting on a trade bill that no one knows what is
in it.

Just like Pelosi and the RATs did with Obamacare.

And there is something terribly wrong with that picture.

It is ok...Cruz tied the last poll in Florida and won all of the SC straw polls. I am not worried

Not only does Ben Carson have gifted hands that allowed him to become a top brain surgeon, he also has a gifted political team that allowed him to win a critical straw poll of Conservative activists.

The reason I supported Ted Cruz and contributed to his campaign was because I thought he was the smartest, most charismatic Conservative in the race who also had the good sense to concentrate on winning the Conservative base.

But I was wrong. With Ted’s thirty million dollars worth of contributions, his magna cum laude degree from Harvard Law School, and his almost constant media presence, he couldn’t even beat out a virtual unknown like Ben Carson, not to mention Scott Walker, for the hearts and minds of the country’s leading Conservative activists.

Would anyone bet on a horse after he fell coming out of the starting gate? Can Ted Cruz recover?

By staying in the race and using all their money to try to win as much media exposure as possible, Ted Cruz and Scott Walker will continue to play the role of hares to Ben Carson’s turtle. And who is likely to win in the end? Aesop seemed to understand these circumstances better than I do, so I’ll defer to his judgment.

“I doubt you were ever very much of a supporter since you can’t even spell his name.”

The attacks on Cruz from so called Freepers whose minds can’t discern character when they see it over and over in him, are not worth spit and I mean that.

This isn’t even the varsity game, it gets nasty during primary season.

Kinda soured me on expressing more than superficial thoughts.

It’s a straw poll, so it’;s of limited value. Remember, Michele Bachmann won the straw poll in Iowa. How’s President Bachmann working out?

But yes, it should be of concern to some extent. It’s a long way to the first primaries, but Ted’s campaign needs to understand that, in the words of Yogi Berra, “it sure gets late early out here.”

“Cruz as far as I know didn’t read it and voted yes.”

So, is Cruz calling you every time he reads a bill so you will know he read it? Of course he read it, even tried to get an amendment added to it. Your low information/act without thinking is showing.

I agree, I’m going to stay off the present knee jerk dump Cruz idiot threads. Perhaps there will be more thinking/reasonable/discerning Freepers on here after the first debate.

I hope you are doing well in all your endeavors. I respect you immensely. (and I will never be a blog pimp) :o)

These bitching people never vote.

These bitching people always vote, there just aren't enough of them that don't step into the booth and vote straight ticket, they can't help themselves anymore than a democrat.

Think on that!

Think on this. 80% of the rifles in that firing squad were unloaded, but that other 20% is outright deadly.

I doubt that many could truly understand it.

I doubt that any of the Senators that voted for it understand it either. It is the way legislation is done a little hidden item here another there pretty soon you have a tyrant in charge.

I have said before only another tyrant can undo what has been done to the Republic, we just better pray that he is a good tyrant. No government has ever surrendered power/control voluntarily.

At this point in his senate race Ted Cruz was at 3% in the polls. In this race he is winning, placing and showing in almost every straw poll imaginable, has almost $100 million dollars altogether, is in the top 5 in national polls, has a great team and is far-and-away the strongest Republican in social media and other Internet venues. Calm down.
