I agree. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to fix as much as we can, even if it’ll take a lifetime or two.

Yeah, we can only give it our best shot.

Bud Selig would have moved the game to a neutral field like Milwaukee. < / sarc >

Or maybe the new commish could move the game to Chicago's South Side where there is none of this violence and looting to interfere with the game. < /double sarc >

So all the “people of color” vendors won’t be able to sell their wares. Suck it up!

So, they play a game nobody watches. Hmm. To me, the same situation since 30? 40? years ago when they went out on a strike.

Have not watched a game or read about a game since then.

That is a big loss of $$$ and prestige from the team

The owner and MLB should hold the city accountable.

“They’re welcome to come to Pittsburgh to play.”

That works. However, if you wanted to see riots in Pittsburgh, propose the same thing to the Baltimoron NFL team. :-)

Maybe it’s like the “tree falling in the woods but nobody is there hear it” thing.

Charlotte has NBA and NFL franchises but no major league baseball franchise. There are alternatives to Baltimore.

I predict a lot of emptiness there for a long, long, time.

What a sad day for major league baseball. Maybe its time for the Orioles to get out of the ghetto.

I read Heinlein’s “I will Fear No Evil” back in the early 70s when it came out. What struck me about it besides the ultimate main theme was the society in which the characters lived.

Fortified domiciles, traveling from place to place in armored cars (with armed body guards for those who could afford them). Generally, an official control of the rabble was virtually nonexistent.

We are seeing this come to pass IMO.

The game will have the ambiance of a Champions League game in Moscow, where the home fans have been banned for racist chants.

and another bonus will be that these sport millionaires will really get to see how boring their sport is without thousands there to cheer them on...

That is Sao Paulo. The very wealthy get to work via helicopter to avoid gridlock and for safety.
