Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker may be on the verge of burning himself down before he actually gets started, given what is now becoming something of a circus regarding his actual stance on immigration.
According to this new Wall Street Journal report, it’s quite possible a supporter of Jeb Bush, or another candidate went to the media regarding Walker’s recent comments at a private GOP dinner, it doesn’t matter. With three sources now (anonymously) on record, he appears to have Walkered himself right into this one. If his name becomes synonymous with waffling on a critical issue like immigration, his next nickname may be toast!
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told a private dinner of New Hampshire Republicans this month that he backed the idea of allowing undocumented immigrants to stay in the country and to eventually become eligible for citizenship, a position at odds with his previous public statements on the matter.
Given the history here, it may now be impossible to know precisely where Walker stands, with supporters left to assume the worst — that he’s just another open borders Republican — becoming the default across the conservative grassroots whose support he needs to win.

Less than a majority, but still a significant portion have desirable skills and characteristics. They are prepared to contribute to a hard working moral society. We do not necessarily improve the country by excluding them arbitrarily while admitting less desirable candidates simply because they stood in line.
Close the boarders so that the population of illegals is a controlled set, then determine those that will be invited to stay based on a strict set of requirements. Those that are invited to stay are done so with the knowledge that they are not eligible for handouts or any benefits other than those they earn going forward.
The Cheap Labor Express has been buying off the GOP to keep the border open and enforcement at zero. They want to keep importing cheap labor and try to confuse people that that is immigration.
Immigration is a process that begins when a potential immigrant applies to be one in their home country. All the others who snuck in or overstay their visa are illegal aliens, not immigrants.
Haven't we learned from the last two immigration fiascoes that, if you give prizes for behavior you want to restrict, you don't get restriction, you get more?

I don’t care if he’s been here 20 years. He has been breaking the law for 20 years, and likely destroying honest American’s credit ratings and other things, by stealing their identity. Ship him back from whence he came. If he really wants to be an American, he can apply just like everyone else does who actually goes through the legal process. It’s simple. You shouldn’t profit from your illegal activities.

I think we will learn more and be able to compare the candidates positions from the debates. I won’t necessarily take that he said this as gospel, but I hope this prompts those who interview him to pin him down on his position.

Tell you what, control the border, get unemployment down to 4%, get every municipality, town, city, every state and the federal government to stop giving them benefits and then we can have a actual discussion of granting them legal status.

It’s no secret that I have not been impressed with him and didn’t jump on the bandwagon. IMO Scott Walker is the fallback guy for Jebbie failing to launch. Another middle of the road GOPe candidate. He has made similar immigration comments in the past. I said Walker had to show me the money and he just has not.
