Some people just won't conform to political correctness. Remind me again how people this age won World War II?

“...his professor banned him from the discussion segment of the class for the remainder of the semester.”

Assuming this is a public college, I would think this to be a freedom of speech violation.

They kept using the word “survivor” instead of “victim”.

Reed College, a small liberal arts school in Portland, Oregon, attracts students who want to speak their mind.

Whatever.

Wasn't there a guy who studied calligraphy there, back in the seventies, before dropping out to do something useful?

“Please know that this was a difficult decision for me to make and one that I have never made before; nevertheless, in light of the serious stress you have caused your classmates, I feel that I have no other choice,” Savery wrote in the email, obtained by BuzzFeed News.

In a purely academic sense, one would think Savery only wants to teach politically accepted views, to insulate (better yet, isolate) the students from views they cannot possibly see in real life after they graduate, can they?

The left is more than willing to 'challenge' traditional closely held views (e.g., Christ in a Piss Jar) or Fat Basterd Queer guys in thongs prancing down main street in a bacchanalian parade right in front of your children, society's 'serious stress' be damned.

Silencing the dissenter, rather than encouraging discourse. Yep, this is a liberal arts college.

“If sexual assault becomes qualified as rape, what happens next?”

I’m guessing that he will find out when the police come to arrest him for sexual assault. I mean, he was making some of the women uncomfortable.

In a discussion about violence between England and the U.S., England has a HUGE number of rapes. But, their definition includes other forms of sexual assault (groping, etc.) Even so, they still had about 2.5 times the number of “rape rapes” than the U.S.

So somewhere the liberals and euro-thinkers figure calling groping a rape helps their cause somehow. I’m guessing it is in the name of feminism.

The 1-in-5 “stat” is a complete fraud, has been exposed as such without any shred of doubt, yet continues to be put out there as fact. He should sue on that basis and move for dismissal of the teacher. Also sue him for sexual harassment, slander, and public humiliation.

Because we were taught Right from Wrong. And that the proper form of punishment was either hanging or life time in prison.

It looks like there may be more to this story. The student certainly seems a bit off.

“they would rather not be there if you are there”

Then there’s your solution, Mr Professor.

“Private college” isn’t bound by 1A?

Do they charge tuition? Then they’re not private according to the new order. You know, the one that compels bakers and videographers to serve everyone regardless how they feel.

Well, he proved beyond a shadow of a doubt the feminization of Academe.

While I admire him and any other kid that would put their future on the line for what they believe (and what is true), I do have to wonder, being that he’s black, whether he would would be on our side in that Starbucks ‘conversation’ about race. I’ve been let down by way too many people on that, but privately and in the public sector.

But it was his questioning of the widely shared and often debated statistic that 1 in 5 women in college are sexually assaulted — it doesn’t serve “actual rape victims” to “overinflate” numbers, he said — and his rejection of the term “rape culture” that led to him being banned, he said.

For me, I prefer to define "rape" and "sexual assault" according to classical criteria.

If it was:

A) Sexual intercourse accomplished via violence or threat of bodily harm, or

B) Sexual intercourse on an actually unconscious woman who was unaware that sex was happening (not just drunk, but completely unconscious).

then it rape. Otherwise it wasn't. And in the case of (B), if they were married, then I would consider consent to be implicit unless explicitly withdrawn.

If a girl accuses a guy of rape because "well, I had sex with him because I thought we were going to have a relationship, but then he didn't call", then SHE should be expelled, if not prosecuted.

To do well in college these days it is important to know ONE THING: "The narrative is more important than the facts."

The libs changed the definition of what constitutes sexual harassment as well. When they can’t get their desired result by following the standard rules, definitions, or regulations, they change them to suit their needs, or manipulate the findings. We’ve seen them do it time and time again over the years.
