ISIS fighters seized most of Ramadi – where 300 US Marines are stationed training Iraqi Forces.
Al-Asad base is near the city – where 300 Marines are stationed.
The US Marines at Al-Asad airbase has been under frequent attack since January.
But today ISIS seized large swaths of the city.

Hmmmm ..?? Seems they learned their lesson well.
In review... I see a tug or two, plus a boom or hoist, in the left bay, something in the middle bay, and something else covered in the third bay. The posture of the Marines is pretty chill... some with body armor and some without. Plus no vehicles in view, so they likely walked to the revetment, from somewhere else on base. I can't see rifles, although some could have sidearms.
As an FYI, the last bird is a CH 46 Sea Knight (I think.) Hand me downs from the Navy... maybe even hand me downs from the Army, to the Navy, to the Marines.
To the far right, and about center of the frame, there appears to be a linear line, likely HESCOs, a form of revetment, which would indicate further that it's more than likely on the base. They'll use the smaller HESCOS like fence material to cordon off a parking area, which is what it looks like I am seeing.
In the background, the road appears to split, and some kind of barrier crosses the road. It could be a gate to egress off post, or simply a checkpoint.
If you use Google Earth, and zoom in on the location, the base- circa. 2004, is visible. You can then walk the view over to Ramadi, and see the road that connects the two. If you can't find Ramadi, just search for Ramadi, in the address box and walk the view back to Al Asad.

The base was also attacked last October and in January the ISIS troops were trying to fire mortars into it

Good copy. Periodically, goons would get close enough to fire rockets into the base. The base is so big, that 99% of it is sand, and 1% housing, so most of the time they were just punching holes in the ground. Now and then, they got lucky.

obama’s handlers may have calculated that losing some Marines would pump up their effort to get Congress to give that azzhole unlimited authority to wage war worldwide, aka wherever that brilliant strategist General Susan Rice and her military operations advisor Colonel Samantha Power want to toss a few missiles, send a few drones, or insert troops- after all they are other people’s sons and daughters and mostly whites from rasist flyover country, thus expendable
