Breitbart ^ | 2/4/15 | Pam Key

Wednesday at the Detroit Economic Club, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) said to “create high, sustained economic growth,” we need to “dramatically expand immigrants that are coming to work.”

Let me get this straight. In order to foster “growth” we must let illegal alien invaders enter the country and take away American jobs, because they will take less pay and benefits. Or something like that.
That sound about right?

That is incorrect.

Jeb Bush is trying to address the demographic Armageddon that is about to hit the United States when all of the Baby Boomer retire en mass and start to soak up Social Security payments and hand the economy over to the Baby Busters whose population is far to small to support all of the retired baby Boomers.

as of 2010 there was 1.75 Full Time Private Sector workers supporting 1 Social security recipient. In 5 years, when the Baby Boomers really start retiring in huge quantities, the the number of Full Time Private Sector workers working to support 1 Social security recipient will fall below 1 to 1 which is very scary and totally unsustainable.

The number of Baby Boom retirees will also result in a massive shortage of experienced, skilled workers resulting in massive labor shortages unless Boomer delay retirement till their 70’s

Sucks to be us, but immigration is the only way to grow our way out of the demographic and entitlement hole we have dug for ourselves.

You obviously don't like this and neither do I, but liking it has nothing to do with changing the reality of the situation.

This post is so out to lunch I don’t know where to begin. You got it wrong on just about everything. F-

Oh really, how so?

We are facing a demographic crisis and that crisis is almost upon us.

In fact, arguably, the crisis is already here.

Shut the hell up and go away.

I’ve got a great idea!

Let’s take a devolving nation that is already nothing but waring factions. Let’s then increase immigration of millions more disparate peoples. Then give all but the historic majority race based political groups and power. Shake it all about and presto chango the US is gone!

The population of the United States right now is approximately 310 million (give or take some depending on whether you believe in the count of 11 million illegals or closer to 30 million). Jeb, what should the population of the United States be in 2050? Should it be 350 million? 400 million? Half a billion?

When my doctor talks to be about my weight and blood pressure she has definite numbers she wants me to aim for. We must ask those who promote a vast increase in immigration what population figure they are aiming for and how much more crowded, more polluted and poorer this would make us on average.

Ok, if you flood the USA with workers how are people going to work into their 70's? If you get the lazy and stupid off of social security disability(a scam) it would save the program.

We need to stop ALL immigration and assimilate the ones we have now. There is no labor shortage, it is simply a question of supply and demand. If wages go up people will get off their asses and work. But that can't happen in the human flood you propose. Your scheme does the opposite. It is like the medieval practice of bleeding, does nothing but kill the patient.

I think Jeb’s spoiled wife comes from Cuba? But I’m not sure. BUT, her nanny, her yard boy, her pool boy, her massage therapist, her pedicurist, her hairdresser, her chambermaid, the valet, the butler, the chauffeur…they all come from Mexico. As of last week.

“In a few years time, if things stay the same, there will be less than 1 1.75 Full Time Private Sector workers paying into the system for each Social Security recipient. which is obviously unsustainable.”

You have outlined the problem, however what you missed is that in the sixties and seventies folks were convinced that two children were enough. That would give us only one worker to pay into SS for each worker. It's a ponzi schism after all.

The other way out of the demographic squeeze is to start multiplying like, well, rabbits. Not all that bad an idea, the pope’s wisecrack notwithstanding.

Is Jeb trying to throw the election?
He does not sound like a candidate who wants to win.

But what is happening is that they are bringing in techs from these countries and displacing higher paid Americans.

The Phillips Academy, pot-smoking, dim-witted, bully Jeb Bush will be the GOPee nominee for president in 2016, and he will be soundly crushed by whomever the Rats put up against him.

Probably. But just about everybody (even those who felt bullied themselves) can be accused of having bullied somebody in high school, especially at private schools like Andover. The bullying story sounds like another cheap shot from the Boston Globe.

FWIW, Bush and Bill Belichick graduated in the same class and one of them turned out okay (pending further review of Deflategate).

We have enough high tech workers, don’t buy the BS.

Absolutely!

My son has spent the better part of the past 1.5 years applying for jobs. He sent out HUNDREDS of resumes. Hundreds! They were decent resumes—I worked in corporate tech recruiting, so I have an idea of what is a decent resume...He had 3 on site interviews. Those would be interviews past the “phone call” interviews. His degree? PhD in Chemical Engineering.

I believe there are many very qualified US CITIZENS who are being passed over for H-1B Visa workers because H-1B workers will work for less. I don’t believe there is a shortage of skilled US workers.

There used to be the “Buy American” slogan. How about we bring back the “Hire American” slogan...NOW?!

Think I don’t know what I am talking about? I have another son working in San Jose, California, for a major tech firm. I asked him if he felt that H-1B Visas would drive down wages and he said “Yes!” without hesitation....

This myth of need for foreign workers is further destruction of middle class and further transforming of our country by the progressive right. If these tech firms truly believe there is a shortage of skilled US CITIZENS, perhaps they should offer training for new US CITIZEN tech grads or unemployed programmers instead of hiring cheap foreigners!

Hire American!

Employment as generally instituted is just wage/tax slavery for the benefit of the takers and their government overlords.

I'm no longer going to participate.

They don't let me play anymore, crowds out the immigrants don't you know. I'd like to give old jeb a great big size fifteen steel toed work boot act of love up his butt!
