A Seattle history teacher who was pepper sprayed during a peaceful Martin Luther King Day Jr. rally is suing the cops who allegedly attacked him.

Newly released video showed a Seattle police officer pepper spraying Jesse Hagopian as he walked home from the Jan. 19 rally, his lawyer said.

Hagopian, who teaches history at Seattle's Garfield High School, spoke at the event and was on the phone with his mom when the spray hit his eyes. He was on his way to his 2-year-old son's birthday party, he said.

What a picture. It’s all his lawyer is going to need. Check out the male bike cop just ahead and to the left of the history teacher (and the old lady in the scarf next to him that OBVIOUSLY looked like she had an AK under her parka and was about to throw down).

Does that male cop look like he’s worried about the history teacher? The cop to the right of the idiot with the spray gun. She’s totally oblivious.

If you’ve ever been sprayed, you won’t forget it, however the whole ‘painful memory’ thing is very Seattle. Everyone in this town is aggrieved in some way, shape, or fashion.

Seattle is lib ground zero. They are probably putting totally unqualified females in uniform just to meet quotas or to make themselves feel good.

The video don’t show what led up to the spraying, my guess is much more happened before they sniped the tape to cut it out.

The modern state of law enforcement. They've went from using common sense and realizing that their salaries are paid for by us, to seeing everybody as a potential threat, a warm body that can be pushed around, and/or potential revenue.

The first 4-5 decades of my life, almost all of my personal interactions with law enforcement were positive, with a few being what I call "neutral", which were understandable given the situation. I did encounter racism directed at black service members that were friends of my dad among some redneck cops, along with racism directed at a young black officer that served under me in the 70s, but that was The South, and was the norm.

The last ten or fifteen years, with few exceptions, all of my interactions with law enforcement have been mostly negative. Cops that are obviously fishing, cops that don't respect the 2nd Amendment, cops that don't respect the Constitution in general.

I make it a point to record any interactions I have with law enforcement these days, and I've told my daughters and son to do the same, although he already has a strong distrust of law enforcement. I've changed my travel habits as well, and avoid a state or two when I can.
