ALBANY — Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s arrest was a blow to the gut of the progressive activists who viewed the powerful Manhattan Democrat as their champion.
Advocates on issues ranging from rent control to abortion rights have been left wondering whether Silver can still wield the clout they’ve come to expect over two decades.
“I am very much concerned,” said Michael McKee, treasurer of the Tenants Political Action Committee.
“He is the only one of the three men in a room who would be inclined to hold out for something better on rent regulations,” McKee said.
Silver’s arrest on bribery and extortion charges comes at the start of a legislative session that’s expected to deal with the extension of New York City’s rent regulations, a possible hike in the minimum wage and Gov. Cuomo’s push for tougher teacher evaluations.

The mayor said he was referring to Silver’s efforts to push the progressive agenda — but added that “insular” Albany needed a culture change.
"I spoke about my own personal experience, and in my experience he has followed through on every commitment that he's made and he's been consistent in his positions," de Blasio told reporters following remarks at the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
The man needs to be properly compensated for dispensing other peoples’ money.
Wait till the proggies and lefties discover how much our current administration has been stealing from our income taxes and Obamacare and stuffing into their own pockets. Their heads will explode as they come to realize that socialism is the great deception used by the ogliarchs to steal from everyone and enrich only their own.
Interesting. No outrage there about possible crimes being committed. Just concern that the nanny state might be a little weaker now.

They met while both worked for Dinkins. She says she had a nose ring and wore African garb when he spotted her and was completely smitten. She never told him she was a lesbian. And later said after their marriage she was still attracted to women.
During the campaign, she was asked about her lesbian lifestyle----she retorted she "didn't understand the question." The Blobbio's honeymooned in Communist Cuba. and worked for the Sandinistas.

The firm is headed by Robert Wasserman, onetime partner in The Bratton Group--a L/E consulting firm Bratton ran before taking NYPD’s top job....the two pals raked in more than $53,000 on a contract with the Baltimore Police Dept in 2013.....and as L/E consultants in Oakland, Calif, where Bratton earned $125,000.
Wasserman served as a consultant (a) during Bratton's tenure as LA's police chief 2002-2009, and, (b) when Bratton was NYPD commissioner in 1994 (under Giuliani). (c) Wasserman's more recent money-maker, "the transition of the Bratton administration in 2014” was funded by the n/p "Police Foundation..."
But the new $300 million smackers deal will be financed by taxpayers.....tax dollars will be flowing like Progressive BS. That whining sound you hear is Bratton saying: "What's my cut?"

My take is Obama’s mega-flops, and now Silver going down, plus Blobbio’s own stupidity has made his ambitions a remote possibility.
