Mitch McConnell is off to a bitter start
Washington Post ^ | January 7, 2015 | Dana Milbank

Posted on 01/08/2015 1:14:37 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"................McConnell took the Senate on the low road. He stood still at his desk, lips pursed, clearing his throat often, and reading a grim message. “Moment of great anxiety . . . lost faith in their government . . . no longer trust Washington . . . losing health plans after being told otherwise . . . rising medical costs . . . difficult just to get by . . . world filled with chaos . . . autocrats scoffing at a superpower that doesn’t seem to have a real plan.”

“Confidence in the American dream has plunged,” McConnell said, pointing an index finger downward. “Anxiety about the type of country we leave to the next generation is widespread.” He declared the government “uninterested or incapable” of addressing Americans’ concerns and “working for itself instead of them.” Wiping his nose with a handkerchief, he went on to decry a bureaucracy that tries “to muzzle political opponents and ignore the needs of veterans.”

There’s nothing like a fresh start to bring out that patriotic spirit. And Democrats responded in kind: Minority Leader Harry Reid, injured in an exercise accident, had his lieutenant, Sen. Dick Durbin, read out a statement after McConnell’s speech, saying Democrats wouldn’t repeat Republicans’ “gratuitous obstruction and wanton filibustering.”.....

Right, poor old "fresh start" Harry scolded by Mitch McConnell.

Harry Reid needs a scold.

I guess it's true: "Your face will freeze like that!"

These POS are nothing more than lying sacs’o’$hiite with the Washington Compost carrying their water.

Basically the very First ‘new’ headline line was they(WP) expected the R’s to keep up the BiPartisan mood of the Senate that was set under Reid.

Would like to see McConnell (well gone BUT looks like the lily livered pansies ain’t gonna let that happen) just take Reids ‘playbook’ and follow it day by day - THEN see how the WP ‘reports’ it (I know, a waste of time WE already know how it will be portrayed).

To listen to an ad inre Keystone, everyone from WJC/GHWB, including Senators, Congressman, Governors, Unions etal WANT the Keystone built.

Apparently the ONLY one not wanting it is the pResident.

The above mentioned ad is aimed at the R Congress to get the bill passed - WOULD love to see the rebuttals etc when Dork vetoes it. (I will NOT hold my breath looking for any kind of opposition or slow down in funds)

Dana Milbank is excreable. The other day he called the election process for Boner a ‘Republican freak show’ while it was happening.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wa.), the #4 ranking Democrat. Total brain dead dingbat.

My bumper sticker for the Republican primary in KY was “Mitch is Harry’s B-—h”. What really killed me is that the only woman whom I ever REALLY loved, Ann Coulter, was campaigning for this milquetoast POS McConnnell against an actual conservative. Hell, after the primary the general didn’t matter. What kills me is that Miss Coulter did this crap following right on the heals of being Christied. Talk about use them and throw them away!

Ann should move South, where she could meet some real men, excluding Bob “raise-your-gasoline-taxes” Corker, Saxby Chambless, Lyndsay Graham...oh s—t, never mind.

Pretty fancy digs - is that Dingy Harry’s hotel room in DC, where he lives (IIRC it’s the Four Seasons Hotel); or did Turban Durbin, Patty Osama Mama Murray, and Chucky fly to Harry’s place in Vegas? I’m thinking the latter since I read that Harry was recovering at his home in NV. Different chair from his video recording, but looks like he has the same outfit on. At any rate, quite a posh place (furnishings and décor look rather pricey)!

The election of Boehner WAS a “Republican freak show”. They were given an unprecedented majority in the HOR with one of the primary reasons being to get rid of him as Speaker!

You're right. I expect the Democrats will filibuster everything in sight, as the GOP did when they were in the minority.

“Mitch McConnell is off to a bitter start”....

Not only is McConnell off to a bitter start, Congress is not doing so well either. It is time for a complete overhaul of rinos and for TERM LIMITS. Two terms max!!!

Every one of the spineless Republican representatives here in Georgia voted for this traitor, despite many pleas against it from their constituents. It is like talking to a fence post out in a pasture.

They all really do just say what they say (and promise)to get elected. Are they drugging the water up there in the Capitol Building?
