Preparing for the soon expected grand jury verdict in Ferguson, Missouri, students at the University of Pennsylvania held a ceremonial funeral on Friday afternoon for “black and brown bodies” oppressed by the evils of capitalism and the racism of police officers.
Known as the Students Organizing for Unity and Liberation (SOUL), the multicultural student group founded in 2012 has held a litany of stunts on the Philadelphia campus to “create a more conscious and active community at UPenn and in Philadelphia,” according to the group’s Facebook page.
Since the beginning of the school year, SOUL has deemed Friday “#FergusonFriday,” a day when members wrap-up the work week with symbolic graveyards, performances featuring blood-drenched bodies and most recently a mock funeral to demonstrate against the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson.
“Judicial system + capitalism + police brutality = representing the systemic oppression that has contributed to the genocide of black and brown bodies. Indict, convict, send those killer cops to jail. The WHOLE damn system is guilty as hell,” warned one Facbook post from earlier this month........
In addition to eulogizing Michael Brown, the couple dozen members or supporters of SOUL circled around the ceremonial coffin on Friday, pleaded desperate words on immigration reform, and even how the American public is misinformed about the true story of the Civil War. Once these justice seekers finished lamenting the state of the horribly racist world in which they live, group members grabbed and hugged-out their feelings. The hugs were described as “solemn,” according to Campus Reform.
The ceremony wrapped up with the students walking single-file to the casket, where they poured water into a bucket, an African tradition.

I wonder if the two white women who were body cavity searched on the side of the highway will be included? Shit happens to be people of all sexes and races...it’s not always about race. Why do things people think the world revolves around them? I wonder what would have happened if it would have been 2 black women body cavity searched on the side of road.

Obama has met with McConnell twice in 6 years. That's all you need to know.

Michele Bachmann has reported that the GOP will do nothing about the amnesty and Obama's lawlessness. Nothing. The GOP officially has no ideas, so Obama doesn't have to make the choice to adopt the GOP's ideas.

It’s like Howard Hughes said to Katharine Hepburns family in The Aviator: these kids can afford to be Communist. It’s not only a reflection on their own wealth (or, rather, privileged upbringing conveyed by wealth parents,) but also the lack of academic rigour at their schools that grant them the time to do such things.
One of the dumbest, but most enlightening, things I’ve ever seen was the year my father in law roped me and my wife into going with him to drop my sister in law off at college.
Ostensibly to “show us the campus,” his ulterior motive was to have a couple extra sets of hands to move her stuff in. Since rather than avail herself of the opportunity to park in front of the dorm hall she insisted he park his big SUV a couple blocks away, lest her dormmates noticed her privilege.
Funny thing is that we had to fight for parking spaces with other SUVs, Mercedes, BMWs, Lexi and “vehicles of privilege” owned by the parents of other students doing exactly the same thing. The kids strenuously ignored each other too, only actually acknowleging one another when they reached the dorm’s front lawn.
I’d add that, today I take great satisfaction in looking over my sister in laws FB Friends list, and noticing how many of her college chums are Starbucks Baristas.
Yeah, it was a bit that way back in my day, too.
Of course a headline attributing the actions of a student group to the university is not exactly accurate. With such journalistic precision one of the events we organized when I was in the Penn YAF chapter in my days as a grad student could have been trumpted in the press as “Ivy League School Holds Candle-Light Vigil for Victims of Soviet Shoot-Down of Korean Airliner”.
(We figured, why should the left be the only folks who get to organize candle-light vigils?)
Did they hold funerals for WHITE VICTIMS of Black racism? I guess those are okay.

Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.
Another example of why the Ivy League should be called the “Poison Ivy League”. These schools produce “elites” like Gruber who think they have all the answers and must make decisions for us, often in obvious contempt of our God given rights. Hopefully the general public will wake up and stop electing officials from Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc. and elect people who know how to work in the real world, not one full of theories and assumptions.
Did these LIB losers hold a “funeral” for all the caucasians murdered by black maniacs? ...or for all the Citizens murdered by illegal alien invaders? LIBs are mentally defective. Maybe they should hold a “funeral” for their brains.

And the white woman, who made it to 101 yo, only to be raped and murdered by a black savage a week or two ago. He smothered her, raped, then slit her throat. Just another of the elderly white women who have been preyed upon by these animals. Or the infant shot in the face. Or the young mother of 4, who was murdered at the bakery where she worked to support her kids. Or the thousands of other white victims of black savagery.
