Amazing how NEITHER PARTY heard the American public in this mid-term election. The Republicans are giving us the same weak-kneed RINO-led leadership and the Democrats are still giving us the corrupt and unbending leadership they had last month. Meanwhile, the White House pretends the election results were an outlier and all of his people stayed home.

No. It’s like nominations for President. They fight it out behind closed doors, and then after it is resolved with a winner, everyone votes for the winner of aforementioned fight - making it THEN unanimous.
I’m sure that Sullivan and Cassidy got to vote; parties generally allow party members who *might* be elected vote on party leadership when the vote is scheduled for a date on which contests haven’t been called. I know that Johnny Tacherra (who is in a tight House race in CA-16 that likely will go into a recount) is in DC right now attending meetings for incoming congressmen.
A few years ago a Democrat was elected to a House Democrat leadership position by one vote, and someone who didn’t end up winning the election had cast the deciding vote.

Likely they didn't have an actual vote. Someone probably asked for election by acclimation and someone seconded it, then the shouting began and they eyes were declared to have it.

There was never any doubt or question he would the majority leader. If you noticed, no one even announced that they would run for majority leader, so I am a little confused as to why anyone is surprised.

This is normal. The caucus always gather shortly after the election to vote for their leaders, then they make it official on the first day of the new session. They can’t do it any other way. This gives the new leadership time to plan, etc. Any intramural battles are settled out of public view.

I’ll give him a pass here. I think even he doesn’t want to be THAT much of a “rebel” or “dissenter” or whatever other name he’s branded with now.
After all the fix is really in for this one. I see it as a wise “pick your battles” kind of thing.
Besides what’s the alternative? To believe even Cruz has fallen under the DC spell? Might as well just pack it in if that’s the case.
