Whenever one looks at the demographics of the population of America, and how it is changing, it always looks very daunting for conservatives.
I agree. But I'd like to suggest a strategic solution that is very viable.
The Hispanic demographic is ripe for a conservative takeover.
The Hispanic population is a largely-Christian and very religious demographic. They are hard-working, very family-oriented, and tend to be moral. There are, of course, exceptions that disprove this rule, but I am speaking of the big-picture Hispanic population. They tend to have fled from countries that embrace socialism and police-state tactics on the part of the government. In Atlanta, Georgia, I run into a lot of Hispanics, and they are mostly as I describe. They seem to be 'natural conservatives', and if we explain it to them, we may bring them to our side.
These factors lend themselves very well to how we conservatives think. At the moment, the Democrats seem to be winning them over. If we get motivated and directly address them, one-on-one or especially in large groups, we may just capture this group for our own.
It will take a great deal of motivation and a very large effort, but I would like us to consider this as a strategic plan of action. It would require the development of a curriculum that explains America (as it once was) and how we became great. The curriculum would need to explore their country's socialism, and why they lived in the squalor from which they fled. It would need to educate them on the founding of our country, and explain who the founders were -- and how they relate to the current Hispanic situation.
Then, when a curriculum is developed, we would need to organize meetings, perhaps funded by deep-pocket conservative icons, replete with a reasonable give-away to lure them there. We'd need fluent Spanish speakers to explain the curriculum to them.
Obama will issue an Executive Order Amnesty later in 2014, illegally, of course. Imagine, however, if it turned out to be the Liberal, Communist and Democrat Party's undoing.
This is a sound strategic move. We need to start the process.
If the Dems, in general, saw that the mass of ‘immigrants’ from the south were voting conservative/Republican, the Dems would slam the border doors shut so tight a scorpion would need a passport to get across.
Even Mexico would oppose the conservative immigrants, as they might start assimilating and reduce sending money back to Mexico.

If the ole Reagan Democrats and GOP conservatives ever got together and dump their old politicial affiliations, they could create a conservative party that is roughly 40% of the population.
If that happened, both the Dem and Pubbie parties would lose a hefty number and each party would be reduced to the 20-30% range of the population.

Conservatives just do not play the political game very well. Look at how many times they field a half-dozen wannabes who split the votes, thus, allowing the GOPelite candidates to win.

Except in their voting patterns and persistence. That does not apply to the Cubans, of course, or to other immigrants from de jure Communist countries.

100% wishful thinking. Not going to happen. Hispanics/Latinos/Mexicans whatever will predominately vote against anything they consider “white”.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad (truthful news). I used to believe years ago that skin color had nothing to do with voting, politics, social issues etc. I was naïve.
It’s difficult to make the case that Hispanics are “culturally conservative” when one considers the illegitimacy rate of the Hispanic community is roughly 53%.
I see that as a very steep hill to climb.
Will all those who buy several hundred dollars worth of goods at gun shows but have no money to join the NRA or any other pro-gun organization or to donate a few dollars to a Freepathon be helping us?

Please rethink. Several LatAm countries have abortion and sodomitical marriage. Chile and Ecuador are the only counterexample I can think of (Belize doesn’t count).

The GOP is already trying some Judo saying reform is more likely if they take the senate. Meanwhile the news comes out about 10 million Green Cards. Talk about taking the wind out of your sails...
There will be some percentage that ‘migrate’ to the Conservative side, I’m guessing it’ll be similar to the percentage from the black population.
I think the fundamental problem is educating ANY citizen about the power of personal responsibility, freedom and free markets, and the failures of socialism.
Why do so many Jews vote Democratic? Blacks? Women? They vote for “intent” but pay no attention to the results.
I’m not sure it has as much to do with demographic as it does education and learning to think rationally for oneself. Maybe even just paying attention.
Are Latinos/Mexicans particularly ripe for the message? Perhaps, I’m not sure.
Should we try to win them over? Certainly. Focusing on a large, growing demographic makes sense.
Do you just shrug your shoulders and suck it up? Or do you prepare -- evacuate your family and your belongings, and prepare with insurance companies to rebuild?

1st gens+ are very conservative.
They work just as hard as the next person, are very Christian and it’s all about Familia.
Should appeal to that concept of self determination.
God, family, the right of the individual and country.
Also, Latinos seem to be embracing Islam while they are incarcerated quite readily.
