Putin lashes out at U.S. as warmonger that has 'deformed' world order

Russian President Vladimir Putin lashed out at the United States on Friday, accusing Washington of provoking armed conflicts and undermining global security in a quest to lord its power over the rest of the world.

In a 40-minute speech that mixed harsh criticism with veiled warnings against trying to oust the Russian bear from its role as “master of the taiga,” or boreal forest, Putin cast his nation's former Cold War nemesis as an aggressive force responsible for much of the violence racking the world today.

“They are throwing their might to remove the risks they have created themselves, and they are paying an increasing price,” Putin said, referring to conflicts in Libya, Syria and Iraq that have flared with new intensity.

Where are you getting your information about general animosity of Europe toward the USA? I think it is just untrue rumors many are glad to repeat for their own reasons. When you look at the opinion polls, then USA is well liked in Europe.

These polls fluctuate a lot and tend to improve during tense situations when our "allies" think we might not be willing to clean up their messes for them gratis. Because they will always be there for us when they need us. Grab an opinion poll during the surge in Iraq.

Note how borderline our ratings are in the UK, in whose behalf we lost 400K men fighting the Germans.

I didn’t say that. You are twisting my words.

The Russian people are like everyone else in the world in this sense: They don’t want to starve.

My point was that I do not think Obama cares about Ukraine. He cares about his nonsensical liberal politics.

Would if I had a CrApple phone.

Though, I really should use the voice dictation on my Galaxy s5.

Robin is way hotter than Siri.

~Talk to any ordinary European, and he will tell you about how Russia really beat the Germans. What these morons don’t realize is that without Russian aid to the Germans, there might not have been a WWII. Heck Russia fought Germany only because it was invaded. Prior to that, Russia divided up Poland with Germany and signed a non-aggression pact, while providing Germany with logistical support for its invasion of the West.~

You guys really don’t have any idea about foreign policy and diplomacy.
It is well documented that Molotov-Ribbentropp pact was the thing to postpone imminent confrontation between USSR and Germany
As close to 1939 as back to 1936 USSR was actually at war with Germany by proxy in Spain.
Between 1937 and 1939 Molotov was touring the West Europe offering alliance to preemptively wipe out Hitler and everywhere he was told to go pound sand.
The French and the British actually expected Hilter to start in the East struggling Ukraine and Caucasus from USSR to get access to natural resources.
They thought to sit on the fence while Hitler and Stalin would beat each other to a bloody pulp.
Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and a following German thrust West was a nice cold shower for them but too late.

This from one of the most murderous nations in the history of the world. Exceeded on by China but I would bet it is close.

And the Russians not only figured that the exact opposite would happen; they guaranteed it by dividing up Poland, giving the Germans a quiet Eastern Front and supplying the Germans with war materiel. Without Russia's agreement to dismember Poland, Germany would have had to invade Poland before getting to Russia. Note that the West never made a deal with the Germans to make it easier for them to invade Russia. The idea was that Germany could not make any significant moves because it was surrounded by major powers and would be attacked the moment it thinned out its defenses on one flank to go on the offensive on another. Instead, the Russians gave the Germans a free hand in the West.

The amusing thing is that when the Germans attacked the Russians after conquering the West, the Russians whined on and on about how they were bearing the brunt of the war - a war they brought on themselves by giving the Germans a free hand in the West and a war they had to fight to avoid physical extermination. But this is the kind of bare-faced deceit you'd expect from a nation that went on to convince a good chunk of the world that the CIA invented AIDS to kill black people.

And what was the choice? To charge on Germany all alone? European allies were as guilty and paid for that and USA had still mind own business at the time.

Russia should neither have divided up Poland with Germany nor given Germany a free hand in the West. Hitler would then not have had the confidence to move on Poland, fearing an attack from both France and Russia. It's one thing to not get involved while someone is being murdered, and quite another to not only assist in the murder, but divide up the loot from the murder. That this even has to be explained is testament to the general amorality of the Russian psyche.

Well, your explanation makes certain sense but it is easy to judge post-factum.
Bottom line is all the allies were kissing Hitler’s butt and screwed up badly before and early in the war.
Even Poland itself is guilty. Before being attacked it has participated in similar act with Germans on Czechoslovakia.
