That was the one. Yes, I know it had nothing to do with FA but nonetheless, FA is still banned. I recall Miller’s attorney was ready to go but his client disappeared. The government made the argument sawed-offs were not suitable, again from my recollection. That was point that the government made that argument and it was inconsistent with the ban on FA weapons. Of course the constitution contains no such nonsense giving government any power to determine the suitability of any weapon, FA, sawed-off or pitch fork!

From http://www.volokh.com/posts/1190402417.shtml
(A good read on the various approaches the antis have tried.)

Arsenal licensing (courtesy our boy Chuck Schumer)

Any person who owns 20 or more firearms or more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition or primers (e.g. two “bricks” of rimfire ammo) would be required to get an “arsenal” license. To obtain a federal arsenal license, a person would need to be fingerprinted, obtain permission of local zoning authorities, and pay a $300 tax every three years. Her home would be subjected to unannounced, warrantless inspection by the government up to three times a year. “Arsenal” owners would also have to obtain a $100,000 dollar insurance policy.

“Brady II” redefines “firearm” to include magazines and “any part of the action” (such as pins, springs, or screws). Thus, if a person has two Colt pistols, three Remington rifles, and four magazines (of any size) for each gun, then he own an “arsenal.” Or if he owned two guns, six magazines, and a box of disassembled gun parts that contained five springs, five pins, and five screws, then he would own 23 “firearms” and would have to obtain an “arsenal” license.

No, of course not; it’s none of the government’s *&%#* business.

End of story.

Free men do not ask permission, nor do they worry about polls.

F*** ‘em.

We should be able to own TWICE as much ammunition as the government can own.

but it does not limit the amount of ammunition a person can own.

It should if hoarders are buying so much that I can't find what I need..........

Should there be a limit on the number of books you can own, newspapers you can subscribe to, speeches you can give, church services you can attend?

Sounds like you had a justifiable lawsuit on your hands. A local city here had to pay 22,000 for merely harassing someone who was OCing at Home Depot.

So the military and police have special powers allowing them to control their FA weapons which civilians do not have?

Any firearm that the military can use should be available to the public. No exceptions.

EVERYONE should have cameras with sound in their cars for when the ‘JBTs’ come calling.

When I was younger, I had great respect for the police. I was even considering being one myself. As I got older, and being subjected to a few incidents like the one I mentioned earlier, my opinion of them has changed entirely.

My family are law abiding people, but I’ve instilled within my children, “the police are NOT your friends”. Don’t EVER speak to them about ANYTHING(especially if they initiate the conversation). If you see something bad happen, just pretend you didn’t, if you’re pulled over and they ask to look in your vehicle; tell them “no, not without probable cause and a warrant”, and if they insist - ask them whether you are under arrest or being detained. If the answer is “no”, then leave.

I basically view them as an ‘occupying army’ within our community.

RE:”Free men do not ask permission, nor do they worry about polls.”

Where do the free men live? Not here in Maryland.

Sometimes I worry that people with guns might shoot someone

Studies show that armed people are more likely to shoot than unarmed people are.

“...Not here in Maryland. ...”

Then you should move north to PA. Move where there’s more Conservatives in the legislature.

We can always use another gunny.

From the article, “A man was stabbed by his wife, and she was charged.”

Were the knives seized from the residence as well? Nope. People are weird.

The question that was raised in the mind of the article writer was - How Much Ammunition is too much...when to me the question is - why did she stab her husband? In particular, since we all know guns have mind control devices embedded, why did she NOT shoot her husband, especially since it appears that she could have rendered him into a mass resembling freshly ground hamburger?

Perhaps she was pissed because she wasn’t getting enough range time?
