Don't know how we missed this one. The date says August 18. Anyway, I think the question is how much ammo can you carry. :>}

I’d say 30,000 rounds for each weapon you own? That is if anyone must have a number.

As much as you want and can afford.

The right to limit is the right to ban.

I would say that one should own no more ammo than he can store. There should at least room to walk from room to room in one’s house.

No limit other than your ability to pay for it.

The second amendment gives us nothing. It guarantees that a God given right shall not be infringed.

There should be a limit.

And that limit is all you can afford.

After you have no mo money - no mo bullets.

(Unless you can steal some)

Of course there’s a limit, but it shouldn’t be up to the government to set it. Mine is the capacity of the basement. I’ve tried stacking bricks of .22 LR and putting a nice sofa cover on it but my guests keep stealing the arm rests and the doilies are falling off.

What always kills me is when the media sensationalizes a report, saying that some person: “Was found to have 10,000 rounds of ammunition in their home!!!”. Your typical ‘low information’ citizen hears that and thinks they were some dangerous psychopath, the media acts as if they are some kind of dangerous militia member or something, and dumb politicians jump all over it as a reason to make laws restricting or controlling this or that.

All the while, 10k rounds is NOT A LOT of ammo! I ROUTINELY have much more than that in my safes. Before things got insanely expensive, back during the 80s when I was a kid, we could easily burn through a couple thousand rounds during a good afternoon at the range. Don’t do that much anymore, because as an adult I don’t have as much time, it has gotten expensive to replace, I’ve gotten a bit lazy, and it hurts my back/shoulder to shoot that much. LOL

Now, I just stockpile it. I think it’s a TERRIFIC investment, that’s immune to inflation! :^)

According to the dhimmiokkkrat play book it depends on the definition/meaning of infringed.

Basically, knock yourself out, as long as you’re spending YOUR money.

IOW, we shouldn’t allow ammo purchases with EBT cards. :-)

I do, however, believe that everyone in the country EXCEPT me should be limited to buying one 50 round box of .22LR per month, until I’ve built my hoard... er, *inventory* back to the obscene level at which I’d like to maintain it.

Once you agree to a limit, then the debate over freedom is over, and the argument turns to how many the state will ‘permit’ you to have, just as it has with magazine capacity.

“Nobody needs a 100 round magazine.” So magazines get limited to 15. Then 10. Then 7, as is the case in New York. The only acceptable number to them is zero, and how quickly they can get to it.

So the correct answer to “should there be a limit to the amount of ammunition you can own?” is NO.

In a very real sense, it is the equivalent of limiting the number of cars you can own, or hammers, or wrist watches. It is an absurd concept.
