The 2nd Amendment gives us the right to bear arms, but it does not limit the amount of ammunition a person can own.

Beyond a certain amount of buying of a rare commodity you should feel some GUILT about being greedy.
Leave some for those that want to buy some too!

One round less than it takes to collapse the shelf they are packed onto.
In my case that was a little less than 12,000 rounds.
But I bought a tougher shelf.

And in the sense of “well regulated” that the Founders meant (meaning accurate, ready, prepared) - they obviously would have put no limits on the amount of ammunition. OR the type of weapon.
“Reporting to duty Sir! I’ll need some guys though if you want my cannon, 1000 balls and the 100,000 rounds of ammunition. Would that help?”

If you can lift all your ammo, you don’t have enough. If you can move it all in three trips, you’re good for the weekend. Unless its deer season.

I’m glad someone caught that. It prevents congress from infringing on that right, which it acknowledges we already have.
The question on limiting ammunition strikes me as weird, though I’m sure gun-control loons would like to see that at 0 but might concede to 1 round under pressure.
To: alancarp
To be absolutely correct, the 2A doesn’t “give” you a right. Your rights are from God and the 2A states that the government may not infringe on that right.

As long as were making corrections, the 2nd amendment doesn’t give us the right, it recognizes the right and prevents the government from infringing on that right.

I remember one Dem senator back in the early 90’s saying that anything over 500 rounds should be considered an illegal arsenal. That was a time I would go through nearly that many rounds in one day at the range.

It wasn’t that long ago when you could get .22lr plinking ammo for $2/50 rnds. Now if you can find it for a dime a round you jump on it.

I believe that in colonial times, the militia was expected to show up with rifle and the equivalent of 50 rounds of ammo. Since it would take 20 minutes to half an hour to load and fire 50 rounds from a muzzle loader, that was a considerable amount.
