When I was at Tulane University, girls were warned about the bad fraternities: the ones that spiked the punch at parties with Everclear and maybe drugs, the kind of frats where girls got hurt. During my first week of class 18 years ago, rumours circulated about a girl on my floor who had been sexually assaulted by multiple men at a frat party. These issues were always discussed with a certain nonchalance as if having at least one rapist around was an inevitable part of fraternity life.
Not much has changed.

These rumors and speculations have been around for decades, probably since fraternities started. Some innocent young girl goes to a frat party, has her drink drugged and then is gang raped by a bunch of the fraternity brothers. There is no evidence that this happens, period. Its a PC urban myth created to attack fraternities and what Libs perceive to be a male culture.
Have girls been raped at parties or on campus? Yes. Have they gotten drunk and had sex they would not want to have if they weren’t drunk? Yes. But this idea that frat parties are these rape camps is a PC fantasy.
Not a fan of fraternity life, or sororities, either. But these figures are inflated. The War on Men continues unabated.
Yes. Go back to gender segregated campus housing, no frats.
The good old days.
Just ban penises on campus.
Time to ban Oklahoma State Police?
"Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!"
There should be no more Fraternities except at Wesleyan.
I’m an advisory for a fraternity. It happens more often than you think.
How about banning rape?
If the Frat raped, then yes... we should ban frats.
Drunk young wimmin who regret their bad personal decisions later when sober and then decide to blame the guy for it when they read about all these other false accusions?
Who of us didn't know young people whose personality changed completely when drinking? That's a reason why why I oppose lowering the legal drinking age.
I will repeat what I posted on another thread on this subject:
There is a young woman Emma Sulkowicz making rounds on MSNBC and PBSs Democracy Now (Amy Goodman) for carrying around a bed mattress to her classes at Columbia to protest that the male student she accused of rape who was determined to be innocent by the school and the police. She claimed that she was raped in her own bed and that the police made a determination that the engagement was consensual.
I saw her interviewed on this to totally sympathetic Amy Goodman PBS and then to Melissa Harris Perry MSNBC,(to no real interviewer) and the scant details that she offers on the incident are not very convincing.
She doesn't describe exactly how she got in HER bed with him or what led to the alleged rape act(or what the act she calls rape even was or when and how she said 'no') .
Recall the case that liberals called a rape where the woman changed her mind in the middle of the actual sexual act. That makes me skeptical of these assertions.
Regardless, she is getting sympathy with this flimsy story.
Columbia Student Will Carry a Mattress Everywhere Until Her Alleged Rapist Is Expelled
Perhaps because these femi-nazi's have dumb downed the definition of rape to include drunken hook-ups that the girl regrets the following day.
And what is it the Queen of fugly hags says about rape-rape?
I thought it was “sexually assault OR HARASSED”.
Which could include having your eyes drawn to parts drawing attention to themselves.
I was in a fraternity. The punch we served was called "grain alcohol punch" by everybody serving or drinking it. There were two ingredients - grain alcohol and punch. There were no drugs or deception. Drink at your risk. Everybody was an adult.
The 1 in 5 number only happens when the activists expand the definition of "sexual assault" to include incidents where a woman felt "intimidated" by a man or was called an inappropriate name, or had somebody make unwelcome flattering comments about their body, etc.
Gang rape, Pi Kappa Alpha, FSU
Gang rape, Alpha Phi Delta, Temple
Gang rape, Delta Tau Delta, Missouri
I could continue, and so can you if you Google. Why am I interested in disputing your blanket statement? Because I know someone who was gang-raped at a Pike house when she was a freshman.
At Weslyan they are forcing the frats to become co-ed. How’s that going to work out, ya think???

Sympathy? Not from normal people. That story was FReeped a time or two. If we didn't out-right laugh at her stupidity, we felt sorry for the boy as several of her girl-friends also made accusations against him leaving us to think these girls were out to get him.
I didn’t read the story but from my time in college in the ‘70s until my girls recently were in college I would advise to steer clear of frat parties because of the obvious problems that are best avoided. Even in a country college town, girls had to steer CLEAR of parties with mostly cowboys for similar reasons. I heard stories, some consensual and some started out that way but went beyond. Things happen, perhaps more in this day.
” Should we ban frats?”
what a stupid question. Frats don’t rape. College students rape. Frats attract the morally weak. Kick the morally weak out.
