GEORGETOWN, Del. – Former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck was sentenced Friday to two years of probation after pleading guilty to raping a 15-year-old boy at a vacation rental home in Delaware. The 48-year-old collapsed to her knees in the courtroom after she was sentenced and wept as she apologized. Shattuck, who received a suspended 15-year prison sentence, must report every other weekend to a probation center in Delaware, register as a sex offender and continue therapy. The teen's parents said Shattuck stole their son's innocence and urged the judge to send her to prison to send a message to...

The Islamic State announced it is filing war crime charges against the United States with the International Court of Justice at The Hague in the Netherlands. The complaint alleges that the growing number of IS fighters coming down with AIDS are "victims of germ warfare originating from the nefarious labs of the American Government." IS doesn't deny that the infections resulted from their troops' rape of captured women, but alleges that "the taint of AIDS is the responsibility of the United States. Raping captured women has been a right exercised by Muslim warriors for over a thousand years. The introduction...

Shattuck was facing up to 15 years in prison after she pled guilty to one count of fourth degree rape back in June. She was ordered to pay the victim's family $10,500 as well. [Snip] "I will spend the rest of my life making this right," Shattuck said.

. . . From across the border, another piece of news reached us regarding a rape victim in India who was required to provide irrefutable evidence of her ‘purity’. This proof was not a DNA testing, (not) astonishingly enough; rather the requisite was the rape victim balancing a monstrous 40 kilogram rock on her head. Passing this sanctity test, the woman would be at leisure to continue her former life with her husband – failing it, I shudder to think what would follow. Supposed to be her ‘agnipariksha’ (ordeal), the test was mandatory so as to know if the woman’s...

"The price of a college education should never be the risk of a sexual assault," Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., told a Senate hearing Wednesday. Too many colleges don't treat rape, she observed, as "the violent felony that it actually is." Her solution is the bipartisan Campus Accountability and Safety Act, or CASA, which would require college campuses to designate confidential advisers to victims of sexual assault and establish rules for campus investigations of sexual assaults. Gillibrand means well; there's no question about it. But Congress telling American universities how they should handle campus rape truly is an instance of the...

Coupled with movements protesting sexual assault on college campuses and in the American military, both of which have won much publicized support from President Obama, the contrast between the treatment of the black actor/comedian Cosby and the ongoing celebration of the white former President could not be more conspicuous. Like Cosby,...

In the years since women first said Bill Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them and the months since the media started paying attention, it’s been difficult to keep track of the comedian’s alleged victims. Many publications — including The Washington Post — have reported dozens of versions of the same story: A young woman, often an aspiring actress, is violated by a man who thinks himself a mentor. After a few weeks, unfortunately, it became difficult to tell such stories apart. Was it P.J. Masten who said Cosby drugged and raped her in a Chicago hotel, or was that Lise-Lotte...

The Obama administration disclosed Tuesday it first learned about Rolling Stone’s ill-fated story on campus rape in Sept. 2014, about two months before it was published, when reporter Sabrina Rubin Erdely called seeking information on the government’s investigation of the University of Virginia’s handling of sexual assaults. The revelation from the Department of Education came the same day that a media watchdog group asked congressional oversight committees to start an investigation into what the administration may have known about the story before and after it was published and what it did to address the concerns raised in the article. “The...

A tenured university professor in Pennsylvania who previously questioned the Holocaust and called for Israel’s destruction is under fire again for incendiary remarks about Jews, women and gays. Kaukab Siddique, an English professor at Lincoln University outside Philadelphia, asked on Facebook this month whether Bill Cosby’s accusers took so long to come forward because “many women are sluts.” Another recent post on Facebook attributed the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage on “Obama’s homo uprising,” while a third post referred to “dirty Jewish Zionist White Supremacist thugs.” Lincoln University condemned Siddique’s remarks but said it does not plan to...

I was born into a family of famous gay pagan authors in the late Sixties. My mother was Marion Zimmer Bradley, and my father was Walter Breen. Between them, they wrote over 100 books: my mother wrote science fiction and fantasy (Mists of Avalon), and my father wrote books on numismatics: he was a coin expert.

An 82-year-old woman who was raped by a stranger after she got off a bus last week was forced to wait three hours for a Milwaukee police squad car to respond, police records show. The woman, who has difficulty seeing, finally called back the police dispatcher and asked if she could take a shower, which would have removed key evidence from the rape. The victim was told "do not do anything until a squad arrives." Finally, three hours and six minutes after the assault was first reported, squad cars arrived, according to records obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. A...

Allred says she is sending Cosby a notice today, demanding to take his depo in the next 30 days, and making it clear it will all be videotaped. She also says if Cosby refuses to sit for the depo in the next month, she'll ask a judge to hold him in contempt. Cosby's got a problem ... he can't take the 5th because the statute of limitations has run out on all possible criminal prosecutions. So for Allred, it's open season.

TRUMP OPPONENTS TAKE NUANCED VIEW OF CHILD RAPE July 22, 2015 There are few sexual perversions not celebrated by our media today, but I gather, from decades of flood-the-zone coverage of even the most preposterous allegations of rape, that liberals are still on record as being against rape. So it's worth examining the cultures we're introducing to America for the purpose of giving the Democrats votes and businesses cheap labor: -- Seventy-seven percent of reported sexual assaults in Lima, Peru, are against child victims, according to the Latin American and Caribbean Youth Network for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (REDLAC). --...

At least 10 people were killed or found dead under suspicious circumstances since 3 p.m. Friday afternoon across Chicago. Among the dead were the decomposing bodies of a mother and her three children found in an East Chatham home with evidence of trauma and a fire that was never reported, and three men dead in a double-murder-suicide in the Mayfair neighborhood Friday afternoon. Thirty-five people were also wounded in shootings as far north as the Albany Park neighborhood and as far south as Roseland. Some of the wounded were in critical condition. No side of the city was without a...

Over the course of four days in 2005 and 2006, Bill Cosby answered questions posed to him by a lawyer for a woman, Andrea Constand, who said Mr. Cosby had drugged and molested her. In the questioning, conducted by Ms. Constand’s lawyer, Dolores M. Troiani, Mr. Cosby denied that he had sexually assaulted Ms. Constand or other women who surfaced during that case with their own accounts of being preyed upon by Mr. Cosby. But he did acknowledge that he had used powerful sedatives to lure women for sex and employed multiple strategies to keep his wife, Camille, from finding...

Bill Cosby is a lousy husband and a possible sex addict. But is he a rapist? I have my doubts. Is Cosby, 78, so diabolically creepy that he secretly slipped Quaaludes into the mouths of his alleged victims, as even President Obama suggests? Perhaps. But I’m starting to think that Cosby’s “crimes’’ were not rapes, but high-pressure seductions.
