Scotland was independent at one time. They can do it again.

On the other hand, Independence might force these people to grow up.
The first thing that should go after the vote is all the benefits funded by London. See if the Scottish Parliament will fund all of those... not a chance.

The Scots seem to presently exist on welfare, government jobs and above all, money-printing and debt from the BOE. Salmond and the SNP are liars, whose only hope seems to be that oil will allow them to be independent, and have even more welfare. Maybe, maybe not.
Anyway, as a disinterested observer, I'd like to see them try, just to see the results. We can always learn something new.
But they have an aspiring applicant in the perfectly ridiculous Alex Salmond.
The whole “independence” movement seems to be run by 70’s Marxists, fueled by empty-headed kids, and cheered on by opportunistic loons in other countries that think they will ride a Yes train wreck to independence for wherever they live.
It’s all a big game for too many people.

The problem is that how can a government of hard leftists fund all of their welfare and freebies on a substance that they consider to be evil?
They weren’t trying to be independent and socialist back then. That’s going to be quite a difference. After all, they won’t have many to steal wealth from to redistribute it.
Not likely or even possible...which brings us to whether this guy is correct in his analysis and socialism will bear its ugly fruit in Scotland, or they will pull together and learn that nationalism and socialism are mutually exclusive.
I think an independent Scotland would nationalize the oil within weeks. lol

I'd think Scotland could be an excellent country, but learning self-sufficiency just might take time they wouldn't have.
