A federal appeals court ruled against a group of Christian evangelists who were forced to leave an Arab-American street festival in Dearborn, Michigan, in 2012.
Festival-goers threw rocks and water bottles at members of the Bible Believers group when they denounced Islam and called Mohammed a false prophet.
In response, Wayne County authorities threatened to ticket the Christian group if they did not leave.
On Wednesday, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals backed county authorities, ruling 2-1 that police were only trying to keep public order.
"The video from the 2012 festival demonstrates that (evangelists') speech and conduct intended to incite the crowd to turn violent. Although robustly guarded by the First Amendment, religious conduct remains subject to regulation for the protection of society," the three-judge panel wrote in its ruling.
But one dissenting judge said the police should have tried to control the lawbreakers rather than stifle free speech.
"The First Amendment protects plaintiffs' speech, however bilious it was," Judge Eric Clay wrote in his 11-page dissent. "The majority
provides a blueprint for the next police force that wants to silence speech without having to go through the burdensome process of law enforcement. I expect we will see this case again."
They give the impression that Billy Graham was inciting arabs.
The truth is that these Arab Christians KNOW that Mohammed is a false prophet from long association. This was clearly a free exercise/free speech issue.
This is what happens when you let immigrants in who don’t share your values of liberty. It’s also what happens when you let government schools educate your kids about liberty.
I pray this is overturned in a harsh 9-0 smack down by SCOTUS.
Their mistake:
never enter an argument with fools after five min nobody can tell you apart
So the loudmouth militant muslims at Times Square on weekend nights are in violation of the law too? Personally, I would support removing their sorry asses.
This is the same as a normal citizen gathering in Anywhere USA that forbids Christians to speak if they mention sin, death, and hell.
Essentially, it’s forbidding free exercise. Christians are under the Great Commission which makes their speaking part of their religious practice.
They think they can slide this past low info eyes by calling it an Arab Festival, pretending there aren’t Arab Christians. (Although the Lord knows that the American liberals are trying their best to have Arab Christians get killed off.)
Great ruling!
I intend to throw rocks at all the groups that offend me.
Then, I will ask the police to threaten the groups to leave or be arrested.
Only in America.
Judges like this need to be removed from the bench. Islam doesn’t belong in America or any other western nation.
Arabs can’t be Christian?
I get it. It’s sick and patently unconstitutional.
I desperately want the source of that data. I have a friend who is very involved in Muslim outreach and I would like to share that with him.
I guess these justices fail to see the contradiction in this assertion...
“...religious conduct remains subject to regulation for the protection of society.”
This is chilling. Think about this. The judge, effectively, gave the state new power that completely skirts around the Constitution. As with any free speech issue, “who is to say what is ‘protection of society’”. This is in the face of free exercise of religion. Dhimmitude at work. Expressing an opinion is now illegal if it “upsets” the other side and they become violent. Punish the civilized, reward the barbarians! Of course this will only apply to Christians.
What is most alarming is the shear lack of wisdom these judges seem to have. Or maybe this guy has some connection to the current administration (?).
Sounds as though these Arab Christians should stop paying their taxes.
I’m not going to do the searching now because I’m dropping offline for a bit but I will say that its a tricky search because Arab Christians are spread among several groups. Primarily Chaldeans with Maronnites, Assyrians, Copts and probably a couple of other groups.
They certainly show up in far greater numbers than muslims when it comes to public events.

Stare Decisis anyone?
National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie, 432 U.S. 43 (1977) (also known as Smith v. Collin; sometimes referred to as the Skokie Affair), was a United States Supreme Court case dealing with freedom of assembly.
Let me know when, and I’ll mail you some rocks!
What do you expect? This country’s official policy is to kiss jihadi a$$ and let them do whatever they want and to harass normal people who complain.
