69% isn’t very good, but it’s better than the 0.69% we’d get with Grimes.

I don’t much like Mitch for the same reasons many expound here, but the possibility of Grimes getting in and holding the seat for decades is just too frightening to accept. There are bad alternatives, and then there are really bad alternatives. With any luck, McConnell will retire in 6 years, esp. if the KY Tea Party can come up with a strong candidate.

It’s sort of like Obama and Romney: Romney was THE bottom of my GOP choices, but at least his foreign policy would not lead the world to a nuclear war in the future.

Mitch McConnell is a backstabbing lib. He went down to Mississippi to do whatever it took to make sure Sen. Cochran was not a casualty for the GOPe. Which would you rather have giving Advice and Consent on SC nominees, Grimes or McConnell?

With Reid's change to the filibuster rules for nominations, it doesn't really matter anymore, doesn't it?

We can afford to lose McConnell and still prevent a cloture vote on any nominee.

Unless somebody on our side decides to restore minority rights to the Democrats just when we take over... Now what fool might go on record saying he would do just that?

Hate to tell you, but McConnell's lifetime ACU rating is just a tad above 90%. Several senate members have better. Trying to make Mitchy Boy a conservative here just doesn't fly.

The more I see of Grimes and her ads the more I think this is the best (possibly only) argument to support McConnell.

She’s increasingly reminding me of a brunette Mary Landrieu Dumb as a box of rocks but a nice political pedigree courtesy of the corrupt machine Daddy built.

Elections aren’t football games where you root for your team no matter what. Many people think they are though. This is what is wrong, fundamentally wrong with the American political system currently. We vote for our ‘team’ and not our values. So politicians represent themselves and not the electorate.

Elections are for selecting our representatives and legal executors. Somewhere along the way this was corrupted to voting for a political party rather than our political values. This makes us subservient to the party rather than the politicians subservient to our values.

There’s no self abuse at all in refusing to endorse or vote for a candidate which does not represent your political values. The abuse comes when you chose to identify with a political party for the sake of “winning” only to end up having your rights, liberties, freedoms and fortune taken from you by politicians under the pretense of lawful representation.
