Execs on notice after Hillary’s book sales tank
NY Post ^ | 7/8/14 | Emily Smith and Ian Mohr

There’s hand-wringing and finger-pointing at Simon & Schuster over the soft performance of Hillary Clinton’s “Hard Choices,” for which she got a $14 million advance, sources said — and which was replaced at No. 1 on the best-seller list this week by an “exposé” about Hillary and Bill Clinton.

The former secretary of state’s tome sold 161,000 copies in its first three weeks, according to Nielsen BookScan — but 85,000 of those were sold in the first week. That number has dropped sharply to 48,000 and 28,000 in subsequent weeks, with the most recent numbers due out Wednesday.

They ought to be retaining legal counsel in anticipation of bribery charges.

lol

Why would I not doubt it.

Or maybe S&S accidently had her sign a contract where the advance was mysteriously not an advance and allows her to keep it.

Problem is that, the people who would/will vote for Hillary, don't buy books or read them.

And they are illiterate as well.

I’ll believe it when I see it...Simon and Schuster is a publishing arm of CBS, which is run by Les Moonves. Rest assured, the huge advance was cleared all the way to his level and easily approved. CBS is betting early on Hillary, and they expect her to help them with such issues as TV station license renewal and retaining the current rules that allows a company (like CBS) to own as many stations as it desires.

Besides, virtually everyone at CBS (particularly those in the boardroom and the news division) is practically salivating at the prospect of a second Clinton presidency.

Do I even have to guess these execs are based in New York city, liberal zombie capital of the east coast? Same with her troll daughter getting half a million for sitting on her hands at NBC. These zombies cant get on their knees fast enough for the Clinton grifters.

I think I know what the problem is: They didn’t put the book in the fiction section.

You ever notice the older she gets the more she resembles Vina from the Star Trek episode "The Menagerie"?

So, $14M for 161K books. As long as the publisher is selling them for $87.00 bucks a pop, minus production expenses (add more...), they’ve broken even at this point :).

Quite true. Much of Hillary's appeal derives from nostalgia for Bill Clinton's years as President. Yet Bill Clinton was last on the ballot in 1996, which by 2016 will mean that no one under the age of 38 will have voted for him.

Even assuming a generous application of plastic surgery and Botox, I have yet to hear anyone explain how Hillary Clinton can run as the candidate of yesteryear while also attracting enough youth votes to claim the Democratic nomination. Most young Democrats will instinctively recoil from the middle aged and older activists who will be the defining demographic of Hillary's base of support.

The book flopping is a good sign about her campaign.

It tells us the usual multimillionaire elites didn't buy 5,000 copies each to 'donate' to the local homeless shelter.

Michael Moore, George Soros and that Google nut didn't buy their 30,000 (each) copies of Hillary's book either. That's bad. Really bad. But what's worse is Arabs in the ME - places like the UAE didn't buy millions of copies to dump in the Indian Ocean. That means the big money isn't betting on Hillary...
