Our Guy Lost, But the Battle is Not Over

I was alone in a Biloxi Mississippi hotel room when a TV reporter named Cochran the winner over Tea Party candidate Chris McDaniel in the extremely close GOP runoff election. Losing is always heartbreaking. And yet, I strangely felt a peace about the situation.

Chris McDaniel was an excellent candidate; good looking, bright, articulate and a bold, strong, rock-solid advocate for conservatism. He has also been blessed with that certain “it factor” which all born leaders possess. McDaniel is only in his early forties. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he'll be back! Next time, Chris McDaniel will win!

Patriots, thanks to your support, financial and otherwise, McDaniel had a real shot at winning. The combo of the Tea Party and McDaniel scared the heck out of the GOP which is why they poured tons of money and organizational resources into the race.

After the Dave Brat remarkable upset victory over Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the closeness of this runoff sent a powerful message to the GOP establishment. They MUST deal with us in the Tea Party.

I think one reason for my peace about the situation is knowing that my Conservative Campaign Committee team and I did everything we could possibly do; leaving no cards unturned. We traveled to Biloxi from our various homes across America and set up our war room. We rallied for McDaniel. We produced and ran ads and organized a small army of volunteers to make get-out-the-vote phone calls.

We endured the Mississippi humidity waving McDaniel signs on a street corner. My wife Mary was bitten several times on her feet by ants. So folks, like all of you, we did our part. Beyond that, everything else is in God's hands.

Next time, Chris McDaniel will win!

Next time is 2018.

This was a Class 2 race. The other Senate seat is Class 1.

Can / will McDaniel wait four more years?

Sorry to see him lose; hope there is another time for him.

. . . at some point, it gets pretty close to being “over"

No kidding. Among other news today, the economy plunged again - and the federal courts ruled against marriage and family. What did the GOP do? Bribe some poor blacks in Mississippi with promises of "stuff," apparently.

I’d like to turn the tables on them with a write-in. The democrats will vote for the democrat and EVERY conservative will vote for McDaniel, who already won the republican vote in a republican state.

“35,000 crossover votes, double the number of absentee ballots, it’s worth looking into and we should be supporting Chris, not posting eulogies.”

Yes!
I don’t live in MS, but I was pulling for this guy; a friend of mine from MS who still has lots of family there, and who recently visited said she couldn’t believe how many she spoke to were “undecided” between in this race. What issue made them so undecided I wonder.

Yep! Bottom line... The GOP cannot win ANY national or state-wide elections WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF ITS CONSERVATIVE BASE! PERIOD!

Money and lies. Cochran was telling them McDaniel would let the roads go to hell and kill local businesses. Only he would be able to save the poor people of MS with his generous outpouring of other people's money.

I don't know if Chris did enough to make them understand he would be their Senator and would care about them. Hard to counter the blatant lies of the left (GOPe included in that left)

If so ,i pray it(write-in) works. If the DemonRAT sneaks in by splitting the vote it is shocking how many 5-4 votes there have been lately. With 51 votes Obama and Reid ,in case of a Supreme vacancy would finish off the Country for a Generation. If not ,FOR GOOD.

For heaven's sake, vote the conservative third party. Cochran will still lose but you won't be empowering the democrat, you will send a much stronger message to the GOPe than you will if the democrat wins. A democrat win says to them they need to double-down on liberal. On the other hand, the conservative third party candidate (such as the constitution party) might come in second behind the democrat party, and make the republican party irrelevant. I do not understand this “vote for the democrat” meme. It makes no sense. Vote conservative third party, and make that party relevant. Make the nose-holding republicans think twice about voting for their RINO just to keep the democrat out. Please think about it. And do the math, the conservative block is the largest voting block in the country, not a majority perhaps, but THE LARGEST! Imagine what a difference it might make going to a third party en masse when the GOPe stuffs their RINO down our throats. Please please please stop this talk!

Dear Mr. LLoyd Marcus,

We will need to audit your tax records for the last 20 years, inspect your home for explosives or illegal firearms in a SWAT raid at 3:00AM, look your house and business(es) over for EPA violations, see if you have any endangered species living in your car, and investigate your children for terroristic utterings.

Love,

The IRS, BATF, EPA, BLM, and DHS.

What about a write in? Alaska Allowed it, how about Misssissssipppi?

Nope. Unlike Alaska, Mississippi decided it was a good idea to pass a "sore loser" law. The only way McDaniel gets on the ballot is if Cochran dies before the general election.

A write in campaign CAN win.

Not in a state with a "sore loser" law.

After losing a Republican primary in 2010, she became only the third person ever to win a United States Senate election through write-in votes.... A rat in sheeples clothing and took it from a Tea Party Candidate.

OK, forget the eulogy. Guess I'm a low-information poster, and from 'way up nawth too. Blush. Hope the challenge will succeed.

Do you know why Rome won the Second Punic War, even after Hannibal curb-stomped them at Trebia, Lake Trasimeme, and Canne?

They had a saying that, when properly Bowlderized, went along the lines of, ‘You are not defeated until you accept defeat.’

You, it seems, have accepted defeat.

Well, the only difference is that if you vote for the Dem, you’re guaranteeing Harry Reid’s job.

Think strategically, people. McDaniel himself will probably end up supporting Cochran simply because he realizes that it’s important to keep the seat in GOP hands.

One thing McDaniel could do, as a state senator, is work on reforming the election system in MS (no open primaries!) and pursuing any available legal challenges on the Barbour/Cochran tactics.

But if all the little girls go flouncing off and vote for the Dem, there’s not much point in McDaniel doing anything.
