Reforming the election system would be good, if you can manage to do it with the opposition of both the Dem and GOPe groups.

In the mean time, following game theory and the prisoners dilemma result, we have to retaliate for the GOPe defecting. The GOPe will win this tit-for-tag game, if the conservatives never retaliate for the traitorous actions of Cochran, et. al, they will keep doing what they are doing.

Of course, the other side of the coin is that the GOPe really is willing to let the Dems win if means the conservatives always lose. That is, the GOPe is the captured opposition of the left. In this scenario, conservatives never win if the must partner with the GOPe, as the GOPe will always stab them in the back.

"flouncing off" is one way to say it. Tit-for-tat is another way.

The next time it will be the current MS governor, Bryant, as the GOP standard bearer. That’s the way it works.

Will be tougher to beat a younger recent governor than an old coot like Cochran. Not so optimistic about McDaniel’s chances down the road so long as the Barbour machine is running the state.

How? Letting the Dems win a seat that was occupied by a GOPer, no matter how bad, is a win for conservatives?

I don’t like to use the words “Tea Party” as used by the press, because I don’t think it accurately describes conservatives, but looking at it this way, if the “Tea Party” marginalizes itself by voting Dem, who does this help? Certainly not the tea party.

Sarah Palin got a lot of criticism here a couple of years ago when the person she had supported lost and she then threw her support to the winning (GOP-e) candidate, but she’s a pragmatic person and she realized (a) this wasn’t all about her and (b) battles come and go but the war and the overall strategy is the important thing.

Yes, I’d like to keep what we little we have of this country. It depresses me so much when I look at what’s going on now.

The person you responded too explained the situation quite well with reference to the prisoner's dilemma.

Unfortunately most conservative voters are simpletons who can't get past the childish D = bad R = good paradigm. So, they continue to get rolled year after year by the elite puppet masters.
