Canada would be crazy to accept the deal.

Why the U.S. Should Merge With Canada

What did Canada ever do to you?

Let’s merge the French portion of Canada with Chicago, DC Philly, Baltimore & New York,(and Detroit), we can keep the rest of Canada & USA.

Geez....sitting around after having blown a bunch of coke, drank one too many Yaegers or boilermakers the night before, hung over, headachy and desperate for some inane BS topic on which to expound expertly....

Give me a break...

The only thing this author wants is Canada’s hate-thought laws to become law here.

While Canada seems very similar to America, there are some big differences. One of which has to do with free speech.

Canada has censored radio programming, such as Dr. Dobson from Focus on the Family, due to alleged hate speech against homosexuality. They have hate speech laws which are far stricter than any laws or policies in America on the subject. How will such differences in laws be reconciled?

There are other differences, such as tax laws. I understand that home mortgage interest is not deductible for income tax purposes in Canada, for example. I’m sure that there are other tax law differences as well.

And what of healthcare? With Obamacare, we still have the framework of a privately run healthcare system, with doctors as independent businessmen and women, whereas Canada has full blown socialized medicine. How to reconcile that will be a challenge.

Lots of areas of life would have to be reconciled.

I wonder if Canada fears being swallowed up by the U.S. if this happened. Rather than a merger of equals, would Canada simply be submerged????

Maybe someone to talk to the Queen about that. I'll bet we could even get a roaring laugh out of that from her.

Only under this administration..........

Look for the same idea to be pushed more and more often.

Say it enough times and it starts gaining traction.

Canada would suffer big time. At least there, some of their conservatives are still conservatives.

Yay! Let’s make the USA more liberal and depraved. Hey, why stop there? Let’s have Sweden and North Korea too! If there is any border change required its for real America to detach the DC socialist republics and the Esperanto kingdoms of California and New Mexico.

Well, we already converged with Mexico and Canada has already had problems with the French speaking Canadians so why would they want to add new problems with Spanish speaking Mexicans?
I guess would have to call this country ‘Canamerimex’.

One Canadian is advancing the idea that every Canadian province and territory be admitted to the union as a state, with of course, 2 Senators each. That is never going happen. The entire population of the three territories could fit into AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Prince Edward Island has a population about 20% of the size of an average Congressional district.

The U.S. might pick and choose a few juicy provinces like Alberta and British Columbia, but the Maritimes and Quebec would likely be left on the bargain table.

They aren't content with chipping away at the Bill of Rights bit by bit. They want us to merge with Canada in order to eliminate the Bill of Rights in one fell swoop?

Maybe some people can't stand waiting for the day when William and Kate will be King and Queen and want to be their subjects.
