When it comes to issues like Obamacare, immigration and the minimum wage, President Obamas justification for pushing his agenda has been akin to the tune of This is what America wants.
They seem to indicate that we are doing great with all the red going on, but it does not help a bit for the Presidential elections at least the last two. The funny thing is we should win 2016 if history has anything to say about it. Very rarely does the same party win 3 Presidential elections in a row. It happened in 1988 with GHW Bush getting a “Reagan” third term, but otherwise not much. However, it all depends on turn out and candidate.
Bush got a Reagan third term and tossed it under the bus .It has been downhill ever since.,..Reagan picked the wrong guy for VP the second time..
Frankly, in looking at just two states identified by Gallup as “competitive” - Georgia and Texas, I call triple BS. I KNOW Georgia isn’t in danger of tipping over to the Democrats; I suspect Texas isn’t either.
Wish they’d quit showing these maps by state and just cut to the chase.
There are about 25 cities that control the politics of the remainder of the country.
The problems and solutions those city folk see for their lives gets rammed down the throat of rural America.
I’m done with those freaks telling me how I should live and what I should believe in.

Agree. Maps showing areas are misleading. As you say, its population concentrations that really matter.

The media influence has turned all historical trends on their head; if history had any say in it Obama would have been crushed in his re-election bid (due to economic indicators). Obama and his media minions were “in touch” just enough to win re-election; while he had massive media help, apparently he was more in touch than Romney was.
Doesn’t matter how you try to solve this problem Government is not friendly to civilians and will take every freedom away. No place to hide. We are now in a communists form of Government and you are slaves waiting for jail or fines.

Dear “Hostage”
Looks like I need to do some research. BTW can I borrow your name? I feel like a hostage too
Yep, you really have to look at the map in a population percentage...
My home state of Wyo is hard right, and huge... but VERY SMALL in population... it controls nothing.
the only thing it has going for it, is relative isolation...
Nothing distorts what is ahead more than a rear view mirror.

Repeated from Post #8 above.

In Texas it’s Houston - huge gay and illegal population, Dallas, San Antonio - run by LaRaza, and Austin - full of everything liberal.
Reagan was an optimist. He added Bush as a way to unite the party and assure victory. Then, when his policies turned the country around, he hoped to convince other Republicans that conservative policies were the way to go. Bush played the role of team player, and several Bush allies were part of the cabinet. It would have been difficult to get rid of Bush in 1984, he had not done anything wrong at that point and had been fully supportive. In 1988, he ran as Reagan the Second. All along, he was hiding his true agenda, which was to take control of the party, and then remove any of the legacy of Reagan. It was not revealed until the inauguration, and the “kinder, gentler nation” crap. He went on to get 36 percent of the vote in 1992, and we have been plagued with the elitist wing of the party ever since.
The one map shows that many people self-identify as “conservative” but that is pretty meaningless. If you ask them if they are willing to cut specific spending programs, they balk. We need to face the fact that way too many Americans have bought into the liberal Welfare State. About the only issue where conservatives are “winning” is on guns. That’s great but the issue that’s going to destroy us is government spending.
perhaps we need one county, one vote. For state wide elections and awarding electoral votes it would be far better than the current “cities decide by fraud” system.
