The FBI uses drones for domestic surveillance purposes, the head of the agency told Congress early Wednesday.
Robert Mueller, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, confirmed to lawmakers that the FBI owns several unmanned aerial vehicles, but has not adopted any strict policies or guidelines yet to govern the use of the controversial aircraft.
Does the FBI use drones for surveillance on US soil? Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asked Mr. Mueller during an oversight hearing on Capitol Hill Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Yes, Mueller responded bluntly, adding that the FBIs operation of drones is very seldom.
Asked by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) to elaborate, Mueller added, Its very seldom used and generally used in a particular incident where you need the capability. Earlier in the morning, however, Mueller said that the agency was only now working to establish set rule for the drone program.
Somebody got to Roberts. A brilliant man doesn’t rewrite the complaint, and use laughable reasoning to defend it. Expect nothing good from him.
That’s my take on it too.
The meta-macro I see is the forces of .gov justifying anything up to Buchenwald on the basis that if the grid goes down, we collapse to a new dark ages. In order to prevent that outcome, they will justify anything, up to drone strikes against “anti-.gov” troublemakers.
There are people out here who are designing systems to disrupt the control of drones domestically. There are others who are working on designs to take control of domestic drones. Then there are those that are working on being able to destroy drones electronically.
If the Government is going to trample on the People, they better not complain when the people trample back. I’m waiting gleefully for when the first drone is “hijacked” by some 15 year old basement dwelling computer geek.
Without question. They will use drones and any other means of force against everyone “they” deem a “threat”.
It’s the siren call of every tyrant.
Order must be preserved at all costs.
This was reported during the alabama hostage event. So this has been known. Guidelines are needed before this gets out of control. A drone that is providing surveillance equivalent to what a helicopter would provide is one thing. A micro-drone that could hover outside a window is another thing. Next there will be droid cops and drones that can just wipe you out without a warrant.
All those people who talked about this the past several years or so, were labeled, “Tin foiling wearing wackos”.
Frauds and biggov neocons abound...
Robert Mueller?
Yet another Bush appointee.
How safe are they? Just makes me nervous that they could crash down on innocent people and their property.
” Robert Mueller?
Yet another Bush appointee.”
Yes, and he “worries” about Tea Party “vigilantes”
As a group, Tea Party folks probably have the least criminal history of any recognized group in the USA.
Who gets faulted when a remote drone collides with a radio station traffic helicopter or some such?
While the FBI and other biggov agencies monitored and spyed on law abiding American citizens, the government rolled out the red carpet for thousands of Muslims, including the Boston bomb terrorist...Even after being warned, government gave them tax paid prizes and gifts worth hundreds of thousands.
All this occurring while government winks and nods at the conga-line of millions entering our country illegally, at will...
Thank God for the UK Press. They actually report news, unlike the DNC-CNN, DNC-MNBC, etc.
Yay! We're only a little bit pregnant with tyranny.
Someone else mentioned that. Oui vey...
Yes, you’re probably right with regard to that.
Then he went over and sat about ten feet away on the brick wall. He just say there for about twenty minutes. Not really, moving at all. We noticed he had a plastic strip around one leg.
My husband and I both looked and each other and said, "Drone"
Now of course, I don't think it was a drone but the idea we both, even jokingly, said that it was a drone that honed in on the loud keywords Alex Jones was probably speaking is kinda telling in itself.
