I posted “check your dates” because I remembered seeing the age 8 photo of him in school in Hawaii which contradicted the dates in the excerpt you posted. It turns out you posted the photo. I only wanted you and others to know the Hawaii school years were not kosher.
This is been hashed over a goodly number of times on FR. The facts are that it was difficult for Americans to get a visa, but not impossible. It was listed, IIRC, as "dangerous" for Americans to travel there. Also IIRC it was determined (can't remember how) that Zero never had a US passport before he became a Senator. So if that is factual, what passport did he use before? A different name? From a different country? I don't know.

The real problem is that the mythical life of Zero contradicts itself at every turn, and the facts that are both known and made public, often - very often - contradtic the myth, or even seem to sometimes contradict other known bits.
The best thing is to clear one’s mind entirely of the myth and start from scratch, just absorbing the bits that are known, without trying to weave it all together. Hopefully more will turn up/be made public so we will get a clearer picture of his actual life.

A scanned copy of the article surfaced and is around somewhere; the writing style and content is pathetic commie sloganeering and IIRC the magazine also published articles by non-students. I will have to check and see if I can find more about this. So at the very least it refutes the lie that he got an "A" on a paper about a complex topic.

He may have gotten a degree, but not attended much or at all. Like the Iranians mentioned in a comment above. Or the article may be lies, already he was being groomed for national politics. Contemporaneous material is what is needed for proof.

The 'dates' in the article I posted the excerpt from, relate to the period the person being interviewed remembered. She recalled him from Punahou as of Grade Five. If she didn't know him from elementary school in 1969, where he may have attended for a short period, there are no dates to question in her interview.
I followed that comment with another article which also relates to the same period. Another classmate from Grade Five.

The period Christmas 1969 is an entirely different story. What I posted today was an excerpt from a first-hand account which relates to a period some years later, and is primarilly connected to the story zero tells of being some kind of Indonesian royalty.

Thanks, sure, I’d like answers to all those questions too, mine, and the ones we both share. I’m sure I can be forgiven for not knowing everything that has been previously ‘hashed over’ here, not having unlimited time to spend on this site. And I’m sure I can be allowed my conditional statements using words like ‘supposedly’ by someone who uses ‘IIRC’ and ‘can’t remember how’.
