You come in here, brandish your little book as if I dont know whats in there--
My little book? Thats the Constitution of the United States. Its our founding document, Piers.
I know whats in your Constitution.
Do you really?
That was the climax of a heated debate between Breitbart News Editor-at-Large Ben Shapiro and CNNs Piers Morgan on live television this evening--one in which Morgan came off much the worse for wear.
Shapiro began by pointing out that for weeks, Morgan had bullied guests who defend the right to bear arms by "standing on the graves of the children of Sandy Hook."
How dare you, said a rattled Morgan.
I have seen you do it repeatedly, Shapiro replied.
He challenged Morgan to explain whether he wanted to ban all guns, not just assault rifles, since the vast majority of gun deaths involve ordinary handguns. Why dont you care about banning the handguns in Chicago? Shapiro asked him.
Morgan, who later stated that he supported Americans right to defend themselves with a handgun or a pistol, pointed out that the weapons used in recent sensational mass shootings had been assault rifles, and insisted that the debate was not one of left and right, because his position ought to be the consensus, as in Britain. Shapiro countered that the basis of the Second Amendment was not self-defense or hunting, but the ability to resist government tyranny--a point that Morgan attempted to mock, unsuccessfully.
Shapiros statement is worth quoting in full:
Shapiro: I think the reason that its about left and right here is because fundamentally, the right believes that the basis for the Second amendment--and they believe in the Second Amendment--the basis for the Second Amendment is not really about self defense, and it's not about hunting. It's about

I wish Morgan would get the hell out of my country. He’s really getting obnoxious. The boy really seems to have a problem with freedom. Why doesn’t he go to Havana or Pyongyang where he’d be among his own kind.
These times are going to make some heroes, and by dint of the same some martyrs.
Ann Barnhardt is worth checking out if you haven’t yet.
He uses incorrect statistics to boot. Not to mention the irony since the UK is the most violent country in Europe. I want him to get the f&ck out of my country too! Then again, what can you expect from a man who was fired as a newspaper editor in Britain for faking photographs of British soldiers abusing prisoners. The man is truly a scumbag.
“Morgan admitted: In an ideal world, Id have all guns gone, as we have in Britain”
There are no guns in Britain? Morgan is delusional.
People are starting to speak up on the RTKBA. Say a prayer.
This whole thing has probably given Morgan the ratings bump he despertely needs. Now he will become competition for Chris Matthews’s little band of raving liberals, Newsbusters, and other pot-stirrers.
I wonder if he’s in this country legally.
Speaking of you and your ilk being "in Britain"...
Dang, that was aggravating to watch. For the most part, Ben acquitted himself well. I didn’t like the capitulation on the assault weapon definition, the “should have locked them up” argument, the mental illness argument, etc., but mostly he did very well.
The 2nd amendment is about self defense, fundamentally. The right to protect yourself from tyrannous government derives from self defense.
“I wonder if hes in this country legally.”
When did the federal government ever give a **** about this before?
It’s sounds like Mrs. Morgan’s little Piers is still holding a grudge over what happened during the American Revolution. It was those wascally Americans with their guns that caused his ancestors a lot of heartburn. LOL!
I hate to say it, but the single largest factor in these mass shootings doesn’t involve the second amendment, but the first. For without the widespread publicity that the new media affords, none of these nutcases would bother. I wonder if Piers (how I wish he would take a long walk off a short one!) would favor abridging press freedom for the sake of the children?
My favorite comment: “Someone please tell Piers his country lost the revolution over 200 years ago, and it’s time to get over it.” (-D&J BROWN)
If those children at Sandyhook had been murdered a few years earlier the Democrats would define murdering them as a ‘right.’
piers comes from a country with no constitution. laws change to whatever the majority party says so there’s no guarantee of any fundamental rights, and its very easy to strip rights from uk citizens than over here.
socialist democracy with no constitution inherently inferior to constitutional republic (if you can keep it).
This arrogant British Ass can row back
to his LITTLE COUNTRY and stay there.
ping!
