This has the capacity to affect the election, not in Obama's favor.

20 yrs ago, WC was pretty good.
Now it’s a division of PMSNBC used to “validate and propagate” climate change theory.

It’s a CAT1 hurricane.

Is this guy a credible meteorologist or just some guy attention whoring for ratings?

Most of the links I wanted to look at on www.weather.com are down. I guess too many people want to look at them, too. And I am directly in the affected area, good ol’ NYC.

Obama should have appointed Ray Nagin as head of FEMA.

I’d walk through a combination Category 5 huuricane/tornado/earthquake/air raid to vote for Mitt Romney and get rid of Barack Obama.

The Globull Warmers at the WC dream of storms like this. “All the old people who don’t get their weather info from the Internet are watching us 24/7.” They have to hype it for a ratings bump.

75mph winds is barely technically a hurricane

Fox already has Whorealdo standing out in the street even though the Storm isn't predicted to hit NYC until tomorrow evening. Looks like a clear, slightly breezy evening in NYC. Poor Whorealdo was whining about the unfairness that Obama has to skip campaigning to monitor the storm from the Whitehouse while Romney gets to go about business as usual.

We’ve never heard of mandatory evac of the Jersey Shore- have had family there since before the ‘thirties.

NYers do respect weather. Everyone I’ve spoken with today is getting ready for this thing. Liberals sounding like preppers; they’ve been through some of these. The Ice Storm ‘78 (the dogs were shivering by the time the lights went back on - I think it was 2 weeks of freezing temps).

Have a sister named after a hurricaine. She’s spoiled with a generator in Conn. hoping she doesn’t have to resort to firewood, it’ll mean no running water.

Beaches are already flooding in NJ. From AC to Barnegat all able bodied sons were out today “battening down hatches”; otherwise deserted.

People are frickin’ nuts. I just found out that my daughter’s school is closed tomorrow. I live just west of Harrisburg, PA. They are calling for, OMG, 2-inches of rain and 25-40 mph winds.

Reminds me of the story of the boy who cried wolf. One day we won’t listen to these idiots.

No meteorologist has ever seen this combination of fronts coming together so it is unique, plus it is extremely large with very low pressure and THAT is unique, too.

Take precautions if you are anywhere in the zone. If there is a hurricane coming toward me, I go into automatic prep then whatever happens, happens, but I'm ready.

We never had such hysteria. It’s all a play for ratings. A two inch snow forecast has news alerts breaking into regular programming. Yes, it’s hype and over-the-top histrionics. It’s the way the media works these days.

There are frequently typhoons in the Pacific that are bigger than this... some, much, much bigger!

Of course after the power goes out and the election is cancelled and zero declares himself King of the World it won’t really matter, will it?

I mentioned on another thread that as I (a complete layman on this) look at the satellite and radar animations, I think the BAMM tracking prediction (Where it continues out into the Atlantic) looks to be what is happening.

I got a lot of grief for suggesting it. :-)

I guess time will tell if the experts are better than a complete hack like me. :-P
