The random sample of 615 Oregon voters surveyed 42% Democrats, 34%

Republicans and 24% Unaffiliated voters. The statistical margin of error for this survey is plus or minus 3.9%. Attention was given to Oregon’s rural or urban divide and maintained appropriate balances with regard to party, gender and age within seven geographic regions.

You are right about 2008. That is why I said 80%. But for the most part we go “R”.

i know, the lack of signage is amazing. We shall see in less than 2 weeks...

It would be SO great if we did for Romney. It gets the attention of the RNC and they actually put resources in our state for the next go around.

“It must be the coastal humidity, that causes mold to grow in many people’s brains.”

Sounds like good dope and hallucinogenic mushroom-growing weather, too;)

Notice the Ohio poll trumpeting the “those who have voted pick Obama by a mile” — yet this one quietly mentions at the end that in Oregon it just happens to be even?

I wonder who the 6% other/refused are voting for?

I have two friends, husband and wife, who live in Asheville. They told me that they like it there. They aren’t hipsters per se, a retired Marine and his wife. However, they were always a bit individualistic. In their case, that wasn’t a bad thing.

I'm pleased and shocked at the same time.

Here in Corvallis, I think we have more Prius' with 0bama bumper stickers than conservatives :-(

Land grant schools don't offer much to academic Commies. They're too lazy to farm and not smart enough for engineering.

“If we could have our way then, we could use a property qualification for voting. Like you must own at least an acre or two of land to vote. Not easy to get that reform passed, though. But keep it in mind.”

It should be enough that you verify that you paid in your lifetime at least $2,000 in income taxes (students dont get to vote until they get a job, welfare cases dont get to vote for freebees).

These ideas are alas a pipedream, so the best we can do is fight to educate people to vote patriotically and for a good economy and not plundering of the rich to gain freebies.

Asheville, NC and surrounding area is paradise on earth. I’m 40 and don’t know the 50’s but if I had to guess, the life we live here in Biltmore Park is what life was like back in the 50’s. The only drawback is that it’s hard to make money here. But the thought of ever moving makes me feel ill.

A 30+ year resident of the Banana Belt of Southern Oregon here. (Californians please visit but don't stay here even though that is where Im originally from).

We have our share of liberal voters (commies)in Oregon, including my wonderful Congressman Peter (Democratic Socialist) DeFazio. I am so ashamed when people asked me who my congressman is. But, our teeny, tiny little conservative enclave is totally dominated by the liberals in Eugene and at the University of Oregon. Yes, through gerrymandering (thank you Bill Bradbury) we minority conversative districts are all lumped in with heavily democrat large populations hundreds of miles from us.

But, I see hope on the horizon. Our wonderful congressman lost in our precincts last election and each election has been getting closer and closer. Probably out of the question he will lose (hang in their Art Robinson), but when he is gone -- of course not death just retirement -- maybe we have a chance.

Spent 2 years at UW before transferring to Stanford. I hear ya about Western Wazu. You could pile in Evergreen too as every one of my ex’s that came from there was a mouth-foaming liberal. Good thing I just used them for sex and not conversations..

“The same is true in EVERY state. Just a few urban counties, either in NY, IL, WA, or MD, PA or MI, or NV, or even CA, makes the state Democrat and liberal. Remove the College towns, capital city, and mega-cities, and this country would be 2-to-1 Republican.”

The cities make all the money and the liberals leach off the wealth, like parasites. But you don’t want to get rid of the cities.

I think people in Ohio are giving Obama all the credit for the improvement on the state’s economy. For some reason the Republican Governor is not getting credit at all. I am not sure what that is, but that seems to be the facts.

No way. The constitution says right to vote. Everyone should vote who are here legally. You sound like those wacky anti 2nd amendment folks who want to put on restrictions that shouldn’t be there. No restriction on voting or guns. With voting, you should verify your an American and that is it. Let’s not become liberals on this site PLEASE!!!!
