Romney: ‘I’m going to win Ohio’
Yahoo News ^ | 9-26-12 | Holly Bailey

TOLEDO, Ohio—Mitt Romney projected confidence Wednesday that he's going to win Ohio, in spite of a recent spate of polls showing him trailing President Barack Obama in this crucial swing state.

"I'm going to win Ohio," Romney told NBC's Ron Allen in an interview. "I'm going to become the next president."

In a separate interview with ABC's David Muir, Romney downplayed several recent polls that suggest he's losing ground to Obama in Ohio and other battleground states. "Polls go up, polls go down," Romney told ABC. But, he added, he was "absolutely convinced" that people would support his campaign after watching his first debate with Obama, scheduled for next week.

Romney's comments came as he wrapped up a quick bus tour in Ohio with a rally at a convention center here—vowing he will create new jobs and turn the economy around "when I become president."

Fueled by the cheers of more than 3,000 supporters, Romney repeatedly slammed Obama, linking him to increased gas prices—which he claimed had doubled under Obama's watch—and accusing the president of wanting to raise taxes on small businesses.

"He wants to raise the tax rates on them. That'll kill jobs," Romney said. "I'm gonna lower the tax rates. He wants to raise them. I'll create jobs. He'll kill 'em."

After watching Part 1 of The Project tonight on Blaze TV on Dish Network...Glenn Beck’s new channel...ummm...if we get that thing out and about and 2016 showing on a channel sometime in the next 3 weeks...Obama will be landslided.

The Project is about the scariest political documentary I have watched.

Obama has a one- or two-point lead in each of the Key Three States in this year’s election, Ohio, Florida and Virginia. The president is also up by three in Wisconsin and up two in Nevada. Romney is now up two in Colorado and ahead by three in Iowa and New Hampshire. All these states remain Toss-Ups in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

All tossups go to Romney because it means Obama is polling under 50%, at least according to Dick Morris.

I wish the Romney-Ryan team was not so far behind in the polls in OHIO, but then I realized that we have the Three C's, Cincinnati, Columbus and Cincinnati with their big inner city liberal, progressive Democrap voting blocs. Add those to the big voting blocs of inner city Toledo,Dayton,Youngstown, and the whole Northern Ohio area, and all the college student Obobo lovers, white guilt people, and you will see that we (Conservatives,Republicans) are outnumbered. I wish it wasn't true, but wishing isn't going to help. Too many people getting the freebies! I'm not giving up, just stating my opinion.

It could be internal polling but FR users here (LS, LdSentinal, Ravi) are tracking Ohio absentee ballot requests by county and party. I would suggest searching for their posts every day because the posts are hugely informative.

Bottom-line, absentee requests for Democrats are very much down compared to 2008 and those for Republicans are hugely up. Assuming Dems vote Dem and Reps vote Rep, the numbers are showing large voting intensity for Republicans and much diminished enthusiasm for Democrats, so far anyway. If this trend holds, and it’s showing also in North Carolina, polls showing democratic turnout like 2008 (D+7) will be garbage.

His confidence in his upcoming debate performance is good to hear. He has been making few campaign trail appearances because of debate prep. Good

The debate is the best chance to communicate without the liberal media filter.

“Then why is there any doubt that Romney will win? White guilt. Stupidity. What? Long term whites on welfare ... I just don’t understand.”

The 47% comment was pretty much on point. People are going to vote for what they perceive as their own interests. If your interest is in drawing a check rather than producing, well then you’re going to vote accordingly.

This election is not going to be like 2008 which in my view was an anomaly. In 2008, large numbers of people who typically don’t bother to vote DID vote. I think overall turnout this time will be much lower and the election will be decided largely by the turnout of respective bases. That in a nutshell is going to be willard’s salvation and problem: enthusiasm amongst some on the gop side of the equation is very high primarily due to their intense opposition to hussein. However on the very conservative end of the political spectrum willard is not much liked.

It’s anyone’s guess as to how that salts out. My personal view is that quite a few who are not enthusiastic about willard on the very conservative side of the spectrum will ultimately decide to hold their noses and vote for willard. But there are others such as myself who will not. I’d speculate that it’s somewhere around a 70:30 split in willards favor. And that’s amongst the very conservative. The more centrist conservatives break very strongly for willard.

For what it’s worth I do think willard is being significantly under polled. With the exception of Rasmussen, I think the polls are off. It’ll be a close election and is nowhere near being in the bag for either candidate.

Absentee voting in OH so far is crushing it, performing way above 08 levels while Zero is performing waaaaay below 08. ANY poll showing Dems at or above 08 levels is a joke.

Based on this, Romney will win OH with some degree of comfort---again, keeping in mind that this is early and anything can change. But what we are seeing is across the board in all ounties, so we won't be blindsided by an outlier.

Hmm. Have you bothered to look at the actual absentee data so far? Even in the counties you mention-—which ALL showed big R victories in 2012 except Cuyahoga-—are showing dramatically large advantages for Rs right now and Ds are heavily under performing 08.

In their polling, they are using 2004 and 2008 voter turnout to get their %’s. If they used 2010, it would be different.

He must break through the media block-out of Barry's many in-office scandals and educate the voters about them, ex post haste.

Whether these outrages could have been discerned beforehand by a more objective vetting of man's murky past is indeed not worth exploring in detail at this point.

Rather, the demonstrable, ongoing, here-and-now collusion between the media and this administration to hide his many, many scandals is THE issue, because it strikes to the very core of the integrity of our political class right now.

Watching one of those nature channels that show the predators of nature at work, I saw an immediate analogy the other day.

They were showing how hyenas eat their prey even before its dead. You watch the poor beast struggle in vain as they pile on, and start ripping it apart from all directions.

I have the sense that the United States is such a beast in peril. You have the media, the sycophant class, the corrupt Chicago machine, and enemies around the world, all diving in for a meal, while the electorate debates whether it's worth struggling any more at all.

In the nature shows, the beast eventually gives up the ghost, and the hyenas get hungry again, seeking another beast on which to feast. It's what they are, they cannot do anything else.

Those propaganda chiefs on Morning Joe at PMSNBC have been going nonstop for a half an hour lamenting on how Romney has LOST THE ELECTION!

Gotta' hand it to them, they are very good strait faced liars!

They are using the polls to explain why Romney has lost, Rasmussen is the young new kid on the block when CBSCNNNBC are tried and true!

They are VERY VERY worried!

Actually, this is what bugs me about Mitt. He doesn't have the fight in him to scare off the hyenas. No, instead he has to say nice things about them (even stuff that cannot possibly be true, e.g., "Obama cares about the middle class"). Almost like, if he's nice, he expects them to be civil back.

This is both naive and dangerous. He needs to go for the kill and make them scatter. Otherwise they pile on, and will eat him up, pretty much the way they have been for months now.
