I have had several great-aunts — all highly educated — live into their late 90s. My grandmother is still alive, although she is in her late 90s and not doing so well anymore. Anyway, all of these women were in full possession of their faculties at least until 95/96.
One aunt even lived alone and did everything but drive. And continued to be bilingual and write papers and so on. So, I don’t know Mrs. Reagan but I would definitely not call 91 “elderly” or “incapacitated” or anything.

That's a long list of well known, prominant and distinguished names. Many of them all-American conservatives who have been fighting for our Republic and its conservative foundations for decades.
Does anyone honestly think Romney has fooled all of these people?

I don't...not at all. I think he plans to do what he has committed to on his own campaign page regarding the issues...and why wouldn't he?
If he does, the nation will turn around. It is just waiting for someone to loosen the regulations, reduce federal spending, ramp up our abundant energy, lower corporate and individual taxes and turn the economic engine loose and let it roar.
If he simply does those things, which is what he says he will do (and which we know Obama will do none of), and with majorities in the House and Senate to support it...we will see a huge and relatively fast economic recovery, a huge increase in jobs, stronger defense, the end of Obama Care, and Romney will get credit for all of it...and justifiably so.
What politician would not want that?
It would ensure a second four years for him as President and he would have achieved the apex of any political career and be remembered in history along the lines of a Ronald Reagan if it happens.
I think that outcome is much, much more apt to occur if we can get him elected...and to defeat Obama, I intend to do all I can to help make it happen.

She was an actress in the 40s and 50s and met Ronald Reagan when she sought his help (he was President of the Screen Actors Guild at the time) when she was mistakenly black listed and needed his help to clear it up.
He helped her and they started dating in 1949.
They were married in 1952...so when he died, they had been married 52 years.

What are the “strong principles” Nancy is referring to? Does she mean Romney’s stances on both sides of every issue? Or his claim that he learned to support abortion from his mother? Maybe she means his statement last month that “two people of the same gender in a loving relationship” should be able to adopt children.
If those are his principles-—and I have to assume they are, since they are proven by his actions, and not just platitudes mouthed to gullible crowds-—she can have them. I can’t imagine Reagan supporting that, myself, but even if he would have, I want no part of it.

If Romney is elected, do you trust him NOT to enact some sort of national medical care scheme? If he tries, do you think he will be effectively blocked by a) opposition Demonrat Senators; 2) GOP elitist windtunnel senators named above or their ilk; 3) normal GOP senators; or 4) by no one because the GOP senators will say that Mitt is the captain of "our team" and deserving of their support?
Now, same questions as to SCOTUS appointments:
Assume Obozo's re-election and that he appoints another Elena Kagan or Sonia Sotomayor (say a 45-year old communist menace or Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts Princess Lieawatha, who, if anyone will block the nomination?
Assume instead that Romney is elected and nominates another David "Swish" Souter, John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day O'Connor, William Brennan, Earl Warren, or even Herod Blackmun to SCOTUS, which senators will seek to block that nomination by the captain or "our team?"
If you candidly and honestly answer just those two questions, you will understand why many conservatives are NOT going to guzzle the RINO Kool Aid and vote for Myth.

I don't regard border mania as the be all and end all of conservatism. Neither did Reagan who supported the bracero program as governor of California to allow many Mexican citizens to cross the border and work as farm workers in California. He also supported the amnesty in 1986 or thereabouts. I don't believe that there was an actual vote on amnesty when Bush the Younger was POTUS. That was largely commentariat resistance. If I'm wrong, sue me. The issue is no big deal. The RINOs have no spines and are, above all else, risk averse.
GOP senators did not stop Harriet Miers. That was the conservative commentariat also and so long ago that Ann Coulter was still somewhat conservative.

The day of recknoning will come for those to recognize a good man when they see one. God annoints people to be leaders, until they annoited, they are different. It’s in the Bible. Both Saul and King David became different once they annointed by God. It changes people. It’s not suprising to me at all that you say Romney wsa different, cause he was. One person cannot annoint another, only God can do that. Fake people try to fool others by having another human annoint them. It doesn’t work like that, only God, the father, through the Holy Spirit annoints. And it does have a profound affect on the Individual that it happens to. Reagan would love Romney, cause Romney has the same spirit as Reagan, cause they have both been annoited by God.
