Yep, it’s pretty stupid that people are surging to Santorum at the last minute, just assuming he’s got this pure, clean record. Every time a candidate has surged, his record has been dissected and found not to be as pure as people thought. Why people think Santorum will be any different, I have no idea. I look at a candidate’s record and what they have accomplished above anything else. Newt is the most impressive on that front.

Plus Santorum has no money. The Romney machine (money, E and MSM) would quash Santorum in one day.

Newt’s record in the last 10 years is that of radical leftwinger. That couch with Nancy alone makes him liberal poster boy.

Well, only Newt could force Nancy to sit down there. No conservative could have done that. President of Mexico would be great position for Newt. Joint ticket with Jose Perry?

Santorum has ZERO Chance of beating Romney. He has no money, no organization, nothing.

Only Gingrich and Perry have the money and organization to stop Romney, and Perry is tongue tied, thus Gingrich is it.

Santorum will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, E-V-E-R be the nominee, not in a million gillion years. I don't care if Santorum wins Iowa by 20 points. Santorum and Bachmann are nothing but spoilers at this point, being propped up by the media temporarily to give Romney a victory in the early states that he wouldn't otherwise get and to hopefully hang onto enough of that momentum to survive the later races against his real foes when the conservative vote isn't being split so many ways.

Most of us don’t want this to happen, but if it does, whaddyathink? Obama, Romney, or no vote?

In my opinion, people who would not vote if Romney is the nominee are on crack. Obama will kill the US as we know it with a 2nd term. And yes, the lesser of 2 evils is a better choice than the greater of 2 evils.

Ignore it. This is the MSM’s lame attempt, combined with the GOP Establishment (see Noonan’s barf alert column this morning), to say it’s all over, demoralize conservatives, and annoint Romney. No sale.

Sometimes I think Rush wants Obama reelected so that he can have something to talk about. Mark Levin has stated that priority number 1 is voting out Obama. Period.

It's not just that poll, it's that dirty trick Romney got his Mormon minions to pull in Virginia on Perry and Gingrich, which was spun by the media to make Perry and Gingrich look incompetent, instead of what it was; a dirty trick by Romney to have everyone else removed from the ballot in a state he otherwise would be guaranteed to lose.

We are not just fighting the the RNC insiders, and Romney, we are fighting the media and their spin. We our being assailed from all sides and have turncoats like Bachmann in our midst to boot, blocking for Romney and dragging down any conservative challenger that dares to poke his head past Romney in the polls.

I hate Santorum and Bachmann with the intensity of 1000 suns, they are throwing the race to Romney.

Ultimately conservatives have only themselves to blame. They wouldnt get behind and stay behind one candidate. The Romney-bots and Paul-bots atayed behind their man since day one. Conservatives jumped from one to another in search for perfection and now are split all over the place.

If Romney wins this nomination it will mean the beginning of the end of this country as we know it. We need a fired up, motivated base in November and he’s not going to provide it. On the contrary he’s going to smother it.

So another four years of Obama is going to fix that? I'd prefer Santorum and would have preferred Mr. Cain, but if Romney is IT there is NO WAY IN *(*&^ I'm going to let the Marxist in chief win another term.

Your amnest candidate is dropping like a stone everywhere. He has ZERO chance of beating obama, and in the last 10 years he has been same or more liberal compared to romney.

People took a look and did not like him. He is finished, get over it. Amnesty is not going to happen.

Only Santorum can emerge. Besides, he is a conservative. He would not have joined Nancy Pelosi and Al Sharpton to promote the latest trendy liberal cause. Santorum can be trusted. Newt is a serial cheater.

IDIOTS all. Of course we don't always have to believe everything that is printed, and I DON'T.

What's the differance between this report and the KIMJONGPUKE's funeral mourners? Iowians seem to GLADLY participate without having to think for themselves, go along with the crowd sort.

Gingrich has a FAR more conservative voting record than the loser Santorum.

Santorum the secret lover of Arlen Specter can go to H-E-double hockey sticks.

Who were his “Mormon minions?” I’m wondering if the Mormon thing could become a bigger issue if it suddenly seems like mostly Mormons are working together to back Romney in defiance of the will of the electorate. If so then it suddenly looks like an attempt to proselytize us on their religion.

People need to think longer-term than just “vote Obama out.” What good is a lifetime of left-wing candidates with Ds and Rs after their names going to do us? Better to suffer 4 years of Obama if after that we can reclaim the office for real conservatives for at least a few terms.

We will definitely still vote conservative in the House and Senate, so Obama can be kept in check. The public won’t stand for his job-killing regulations if the economy stays bad, so he’ll either shift or be so unpopular we can win in 4 years with a conservative candidate even on a 3rd party if we have to. Maybe he gets some court picks in, but I’m not sure there are that many key or core issues that have been decided by the courts lately. Seems like it’s liberal legislation and executive overreach that is causing all our problems lately.

Unbelievable that anyone would judge a man with a 40-year career and real achievements based on one 30-second TV ad he did that he admitted was stupid. I’ve never heard of anything more unfair.

So another four years of Obama is going to fix that? I'd prefer Santorum and would have preferred Mr. Cain, but if Romney is IT there is NO WAY IN *(*&^ I'm going to let the Marxist in chief win another term.

We compromised with McCain with the attitude that if he won, fine, if he lost, we'll get a good conservative in there in 2012. So here we are, being forced fed Romney and once again we're supposed to have that "well it's better than Obama" attitude. Romney can't beat Obama for one, imo, but even if he did, he won't be much better than Obama because he's not a conservative at heart, not even close. He'll have a lot of trouble getting any respect in Congress because he's a wimp so he'll compromise us into oblivion. In 10 to 20 years, the dem party will, no doubt, be all out communist and the rep party will be nice little moderate marxists which the msm will refer to as far right extremists. In other words, it will never end!

Conservatives jumped from one to another in search for perfection and now are split all over the place.

I don't think they were looking for "perfection." More like "minimal acceptability."

Sadly, since there is virtually no moral leadership left in the GOP leadership ranks, it has been a vain search.

Florida is actually where the nomination is decided and has been for more than the last half century. South Carolina has a major bearing on Florida due to the momentum generated.

I beleive both states also run closed primaries (unlike Iowa and New Hampshire), but fairly loose enforcement of the closed process in Florida.
