Ultimately conservatives have only themselves to blame. They wouldnt get behind and stay behind one candidate. The Romney-bots and Paul-bots atayed behind their man since day one. Conservatives jumped from one to another in search for perfection and now are split all over the place.

I don't think they were looking for "perfection." More like "minimal acceptability."

Sadly, since there is virtually no moral leadership left in the GOP leadership ranks, it has been a vain search.

These are proportional delegates, so I still want to know if lower tier candidates can drop out and “give” their delegates to someone else. In that way, the conservative vote can be consolidated by the candidates themselves. Problem is if they don’t do it soon, the media meme will keep pushing Romney which could shift votes and the conservatives might not get fundraising.

Except to Huntsman who was the true conservative with widespread moderate support AND had the best chance of beating Obama. Exactly what Republicans tell you that they had been looking for all these years. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to want to find it in 2012. lol

You are so right, and that's why we need Santorum as the non-Romney. No one else is feasible, and he is the longest of longshots.
