Whoa! What’s with the Newt rant?

You can support your candidate, but keep it civil with me.

I haven’t said anything bad about Newt. (Except to tweak some disruptor on another thread earlier today and I’ll do that if I so choose.) Newt’s not my candidate, but I’ll vote for him if he gets the nomination.

But, a word to the wise: New posters should not come off with unproked aggression to a FReeper who’s been here for nearly 11 years.

Welcome to FR.

There is no screening on that poll. So we don’t know how many democrats are voting on that poll.

I wouldn’t let that poll worry you.

He said he wasn’t willing to “purge” candidates over the issue. That makes him a big tent Republican but it doesn’t make him a supporter of partial-birth abortion. It is a disingenuous attack at best or shows the level of her critical thinking skills at worst. Why can’t she sell Michele Bachman instead of trash on first Perry, then Cain, then Newt?

Make no mistake, FOX leveled some of the most vicious attacks on a candidate I have ever seen tonight, all aimed at Newt. They dog piled him and invited all the other candidates to do the same. It was a disgrace!

At one point, I thought that this is it, Newt is finished, but then Newt picked himself up and out if it. He then proceeded to engage the audience and get loud approval, which made the moderators cringe. (Kelley) Then, they had no other choice than to back off.

They even lost their attempt to avoid questioning him the rest of the debate. Newt made big hits every time he answered a question later on.

Obie's biggest debate weapon (besides lying) is the strawman argument. Nobody on that stage is better at reframing and putting a question in context and disassembling the strawman than Newt. Period.

I can see him getting under Obie's skin early and often. Sarah Palin knew that Obie had a thin skin and tried to exploit it. We all know she was pulled back.

Newt won't back off. He will drive BarryO over a cliff.

We didn’t know how we were supposed to finish.

We still don’t. LOL

This is all uncharted territory for us. We’re just rolling along and trying not to freak out. Hahahaha

Caddell’s on the FoxNews.com live feed (during the debate breaks).

Twitter sux.

Hi CCC, how are ya? :-)

D'oh! The live feed... I forgot all about that. We watched it on TV. Good debate!

Just curious why you don't like Twitter? Several conservative friends claim 'it's the way to go' now. I have no idea, as I don't have a Twitter account...

LOL. Good on HD! I will take note of her make-up. Someone else mentioned it to me and I hadn’t noticed. MB really doesn’t need much make-up. I have a picture of us together, but DrO took it down because he can’t stand her. Now I agree with him!

I am going to watch the replay - it’s on now.

P.S. You can’t have my phone number either.
So there!

Not to change the subject, but here’s an article you might like better than the one about the flag burners in Fallujah. Well done Mr North: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2821024/posts

True, OK, I’m a little off my game tonight on Political analysis, LOL!

If Romney had Huntsman, at least the Republican voters would get plenty of rest.

I agree. We need a conservative outsider like Perry who will get the job done in DC.

Wasn’t trying to be too aggressive or offend you or anybody else for that matter. Just making a general argument why Newt would do well. Thanks for the welcome. I also would vote for whoever runs against Obama if Newt doesn’t make it.

The irony is that while trying to protect Romney, the media is doing him in. They protect him and he parses and plays it safe while other candidates make hay, especially Newt. Mitt looks more and more like Huntsman every day because of it.

I concur with you completely!

Newt is our best candidate, no argument from me.

Huntsman is a bore, but at least he has a fair amount of knowledge.

He would be a democrat but for being from solid Republican Utah.

You know what it feels like to me? It feels like somebody gives Bachmann a point to attack somebody over - Perry, Cain, now Newt, and she relentlessly attacks on that single point every chance she gets and runs it into the ground, and then somebody gives her a new talking point, and she moves on to that.

Good analysis. It does appear that way. She's been pretty fair about spreading it around, but she sure does clamp on to a point.

I did like her taking it to Ron Paul when he started his standard Code Pink rant.

Her presentation made her look ghoulish. For such a beautiful woman to do that was poor taste at best, frankly it took me aback.

Unfortunately, that's meaningless, it was her performance tonight that really sucked. Very disappointing, of all the candidates she was the worst. When the crazy uncle in the attic outdoes you, you know you've had a bad day........

This just plain needs repeating...’excerts’ from your excellant post:

.....”The scariest thing about the establishment RINOs is that they are afraid Newt WILL BEAT OBAMA.

We have seen the divide between the establishment and the Tea Party..... What’s going on between the establishment and Newt is exactly the same thing.....They are specifically terrified because they think Newt WILL win.

They know Romney will bend over and do whatever the establishment wants. They know Newt will do whatever he thinks his best.

Some say Newt will do what’s best for Newt.... I think his record shows he’ll do what’s best for the country. But it’s clear he doesn’t care one bit about what the establishment of the party thinks.....”.......

McCain’s biggest mistake was, not let Palin be Palin. We would’nt have to deal with what we have now.

On Twitter, you’re allowed up to a mere 140 characters, which is pretty limiting if you have something substantial to say. Seems designed for the text-generation who generally have limited capacity (as well as spelling ability) to make complete sentences.

Facebook is far superior in design and you can make a complete sentences and embed videos and such, so I stick to that for social media.
