I think it’s actually possible that these allegations would help with some of the libertarian-leaning independents who might otherwise fear that she’s be a fundamentalist Christian “extremist”.

I just find the hype surrounding Sarah Palin MOST amusing.
She is on a train-—or is is a bus?-—to nowhere. Nobody outside a narrow slice of the conservative wing of the GOP sees her as presidential timber. Yet she has a cultlike following which makes the Ron Paul people look tame.
Thinking that makes me an inhuman monster? No, I’m just tired of being hustled by attention-hustlers and political slicksters.

No, it is not.
I pointed out that I knew people in school who used drugs, but not in my circle of friends. Can I prove a negative? Of course not. Is it highly likely I am right? Yes. Some of them used drugs before becoming Christians, but not after. These are people I had as room mates, that are still in touch after 30 years, people I deployed with and lived in tents with.
Oddly enough, there is still a large percentage of people who have never used illegal drugs. It is entirely possible to know 50 people, all of whom have never used drugs.
The idea it is impossible is sad. And false. We weirdos do exist, and many of us have each others as friends.
And one of the reasons Palin resonates with many is that she seems a lot like the folks we grew up with and had as friends.

That debate was a Tea Party debate. The Tea Party is naturally against an elected official using executive orders to bypass the will of the people. Especially if he has people working for him that lobby for what that official is using the EO for.

What really stunk was Rick saying he just didn’t want them to get cancer. That is a typical lib excuse for doing something that stinks.

It's somehow rooted to the same emotionally delusional half-logic that informs affirmative action. The thinking that a heart surgeon or lawyer making it to degree and certificate by social promotion is actually a good surgeon or adept lawyer. That dynamic in the case of the most gifted and most able often becomes a utter denial of their abilities, and a 180-degree off bold replacement-identity for their public persona that claims stupidity where they are true geniuses and cold-heartedness and viciousness when they are in actuality the most caring, modest and respectful of others.
Why do such completely opposite bold lies work and take hold in some part of the public? Only because they are completely opposite. Like a compass needle while pointing North also points South. Even the complete negative of their true gifts and extraordinarily developed abilities still defines the gifts and abilities, by inversion.
For example when a person says "turn LEFT!" the driver also considers a right turn as well. Or when one mentions the wholly evil Hitler, we also think of the millions of good and decent Jews he ordered killed.
She has been among the top three prospective GOP candidates in polling all year, has unquestionably the strongest base in the party, has been the most successful critic of Obama over the last three years—and hasn’t yet announced.
Also, she’s the only candidate among our realistic top three who doesn’t have an embarrassing history of trying to mandate healthcare solutions on her constituency when Obamacare is the biggest club that the GOP has to wallop Obama with in 2012.

The day that Obama got the Nobel Prize, people started posting “Breaking News” threads. Everything from “Obama wins Dancing With the Stars” to “Obama wins the Hogwarts House Cup” There were even explanations that looked like real news stories, i.e. “In a surprise upset, Obama takes the Gold medal for unevenbars without breaking a sweat.”
We had been so down in the dumps from they election until then, that everyone’s humor started running. We had a blast. Even the mods got into it. They left them all up and at noon when Rush came on, he picked them up and started announcing.
It was a brilliant day!
