Expert: No Doubt Obama's Birth Certificate Is Legit
Fox News ^ | 4/29/11 | Jana Winter

It didn’t take long for some of President Obama’s doubters to claim the long-awaited birth certificate posted online by the White House on Wednesday had been altered or might be a fake.

But a leading software expert says there’s no doubt about its authenticity, and he dismisses claims of fraud as flat-out wrong.

The doubters have latched onto the idea that Adobe Illustrator — the premier program for computer graphic artists — “reveals” evidence of document manipulation in the Obama birth certificate. They note Illustrator reveals nine separate layers of the document, and claim it’s “proof” the file has been altered.

But that’s not so, says Jean-Claude Tremblay, a leading software trainer and Adobe-certified expert, who has years of experience working with and teaching Adobe Illustrator.

“You should not be so suspicious about this,” Tremblay told FoxNews.com, dismissing the allegations.

He said the layers cited by doubters are evidence of the use of common, off-the-shelf scanning software — not evidence of a forgery. “I have seen a lot of illustrator documents that come from photos and contain those kind of clippings—and it looks exactly like this,” he said.

Tremblay explained that the scanner optical character recognition (OCR) software attempts to translate characters or words in a photograph into text. He said the layers cited by the doubters shows that software at work – and nothing more.

I would like this to be done with. The release(s) did not do it.

Hey, Tremblay stooge. You scan it and then save it as a PDF document. It is basic stuff. None of this “optimizing” the image nonsense, or messing around with it.

The same BS OCR explanation that nobody seems to demonstrate on video.

Anyone have a video of the demonstration of OCR?

Why would you scan the document using OCR when you have no need to edit the text? It seems funny to me why you would scan the document in this manner.

BS! I unzipped the document that appeared to be printed on security paper. There was NO text in the .pdf. It appeared to be all graphic files to me. I have worked with text converted to .pdf and if that is what the output of OCR software is, this is not text.

Now, the layers thing to me seems unimportant. The forgery, if there is one, happened before it was scanned by the recipients who received it from the HI Dept. of Health. The document printed on white paper seemed a lot more credible to me, but there is no way of knowing how it was manipulated before the Dept. of Health printed it. Once in printed format, there is no way to trace any changes to the document.

They did not scan it using OCR, it only contained graphics files in the .pdf. I looked inside.

This BC is identified by it's own stamp as an "abstract".

Does anyone know why yet? It is being assumed by media that this is simply a copy of the actual certificate, and in fact Obama himself has implied that. So why does it say abstract and why the need for something other than an exact copy?

Odd Serial #

Note that the last digit was scanned at a different resolution and contrast than the bulk of the document.

Good point, I believe that OCR data would not be pixilated, it would convert into some type of font, is that not correct? Where is Trump on this issue? Very suspicious that after all the hoopla he has done on the birth certificate that he would accept this document without question.

Anyone have a video of the demonstration of OCR?

A guy at NRO, but he doesn't really recreate or duplicate what happened with Obama's COLB. He should have used a flat image of another Hawaiian COLB and duplicated the process exactly as Obama's COLB. He tried to pawn off an "optimizing" feature as innoucous, and used some other image as a demonstration. That's not up to snuff. He's full of it.

See post 23.

It’s frustrating isn’t it? Watching so many people come to this idiot’s defense.

Still yet to see a video demonstrating this OCR effect...

So no one finds it odd that the registrar is Uk La Lee?

What I find odd is the fact that you have been proved wrong on other threads....yet you keep posting the same crap.

What's up with that?

PS, I'm a 100% "Birther"

None of this matters. That “thing” uploaded the other day for the world to see isn’t a legally binding document. It has no electronic pedigree, and came from the very people who would be harmed the most through a factual disclosure. When Fox News examines a dead-tree version Fed-EX’d by the Hawaii dept of Vital Statistics, and it bears all the stamps, and signatures which attest to its authenticity under pain of fines or imprisonment, ping me.

This is BULLSHIT

Why would you use OCR on a document you were not going to modify?

Agree. It is stupid and complete BS
