Obamas Choose Elite Private School for Kids Friday, November 21, 2008 8:04 PM WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama and his wife have chosen Sidwell Friends School for their two daughters, opting for a private institution that another White House child, Chelsea Clinton, attended a decade ago. "A number of great schools were considered," said Katie McCormick Lelyveld, a spokeswoman for Michelle Obama. "In the end, the Obamas selected the school that was the best fit for what their daughters need right now." She said Sidwell can provide the security and privacy that Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, will need as...

In a campaign where nothing has been left to chance, we have America's new First Family, the Obamas, all decked out in red and black! [...] When I looked at this picture this morning, I thought the choice of clothing colors was a bit odd. Really, who puts black on a little girl and why red & black on the all four of the Obamas? [...] Think about it. Don’t we always see politicians in shades or combinations of red, blue, navy, etc. Examples that quickly come to mind include Nancy Reagan’s red dresses, Hillary’s many shades of blues dresses...

The controversy surrounding Senator Barack Obama's friendship with Rashid Khalidi, and the tape being suppressed by the Los Angeles Times, is overshadowing the important fact that Khalidi is just one of many Israel-hating Islamic characters that Obama has allied himself with. For example, these people are connected directly to his Senate office or campaign: Cynthia K. Miller, treasurer of his Senate campaign, is a member of a member Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam. Jennifer Mason, Obama's Director of Constituent Services, is also a member of the Nation of Islam. Other Nation of Islam members, including consultant Shakir Muhammad, held important...

In the new Parents' Magazine, the Obamas answer questions on a variety of parent-related topics. Q. What about the role of religion in their lives? Do they go to church? Barack: You know, we've been so busy that we haven't been to church together much recently. We've been visiting a lot of churches. Michelle: We view going to church as a family activity. So the girls don't go unless we all go, and we've been traveling so much lately. Q. Do they go to Sunday school? Michelle: No. We view weekends as family time, so if they're off somewhere part...

Is North Carolina reverting back to form? After a month of leading most N.C. polls, Barack Obama finds himself in a dead heat today with John McCain. Raleigh's Public Policy Polling has Obama leading McCain, 49-48, in a survey released Monday. Obama led by seven in PPP's poll one week ago. Rasmussen, in a poll released Monday evening, has McCain on top by the same 49-48 margin. McCain led by two in a Rasmussen poll Friday. N.C. hasn't awarded its 15 electoral votes to a Democrat since 1976. PPP's Tom Jensen says McCain gained significantly among Democrats and whites in...

American Dream From the runway to the Oval Office, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE for Tyra Banks. Bazaar casts her as First Lady while she reflects on being a model citizen and the politics of fashion. Tyra Banks is sitting on the huge corner sofa in her office in New York, impressing on her interviewer the fierceness of Abigail Adams. Resisting the obvious choice of Jackie Kennedy ("although she was a fox"), it's the second first lady who has Banks in awe. "I watched the John Adams series on HBO, and I was so taken by her that I Googled everything I...

Obama’s radical background Obama would describe his grandparents as ‘white folk.’ (Yeah, ‘white folk’ that would NOT abandon you, their grandchild. Shame on you Obama.) Barack has stated his support for Luo Raila Odinga (Opposition Leader in Kenya who signed a ‘Shariah pact’ with Muslims and claims to be Obama’s cousin) and is married to Ida Odinga. They have four children - two sons and two daughters. His oldest son, Fidel, is named after Fidel Castro U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s uncle has been a prisoner in his own home, trapped by post election violence that has left more than...

It's amazing how much the Obamas are like the Clintons -- who are now attacked by the same people who used to kiss the ground they stepped on. Carl Bernstein talks about Hillary's "dark side." Bill, says an MSNBC blogger, is a serial liar. Well, thanks for performing your journalistic duty to the American people. It only took sixteen years for our media to tell us what was clear to the rest of the world before the Clintons ever got elected in 1992. This is typical of the dismal human judgment of liberals -- it takes them more than a...

“The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.” --Fredrick Bastiat, 1850 in...

The new pastor at Barack Obama's church says his predecessor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was in a sense crucified just like Jesus Christ at the hands of the Romans. According to Fox News, Rev. Otis Moss III titled his Easter sunrise sermon "How to Handle a Public Lynching," focusing mainly on the media firestorm over the Chicago church attended by the Democratic presidential candidate. Moss reportedly did not specify Wright by name, but told the congregation at Trinity United Church of Christ that Wright, who has delivered sermons in which he likened the U.S. to the Ku Klux Klan and...

At a ceremony in Nairobi, the two men put their signatures to a power-sharing deal brokered by ex-UN head Kofi Annan. --snip-- Speaking after the signing, Mr Kibaki said: "This process has reminded us that as a nation there are more issues that unite than that divide us... "We've been reminded we must do all in our power to safeguard the peace that is the foundation of our national unity... Kenya has room for all of us." Political violence has ignited...

It's a hard thing to pin down, Barack Obama's Jewish problem. But in the halls of the AIPAC Policy Conference yesterday, there was no denying that the members of the pro-Israel group -- largely Democrats, though they tilt right -- feel a real, if kind of inchoate, skepticism about the Illinois senator. Now, an Iowa Democrat and AIPAC member, David Adelman, has written Obama a letter asking for clarification of Obama's remark to the Des Moines register that "nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people," a statement Adelman writes he found "deeply troubling." Adelman, a Des Moines lawyer, said...
